I saw someone on here applied for EAD based on pending i485 (c9) on  12/26/2018 and they already got an update that the card is being produced 04/09/2019.

I applied 12/31/2019 soo that makes me happy that I might get myn soon.

Anyone else applied in December and got their EAD/ Work permit?

Congratulation on your approval. It was so difficult to keeping faith se time.

I'mSeptember 12th2017. As I understand September filer are still within normal range. How could you contact Congressman and he/she agreed to inquire on your behalf? How could you find your congressman?

@Hopemama thanks 🙂 and yes, it’s still within normal processing time that’s why I received a generic response from USCIS via my congressman.

Use Google search ‘my congressman’ to find the nearest one to you and contact them via their webpage. They’ll give you a consent form to fill before they can inquire about your case. Hope this helps.

Hi VJ Family,

I got an update yesterday under VAWA for card production which means that my VAWA case has been approved!!

im so happy and relieved that God has lifted the burden from my shoulders at last!

I cdnt even sleep last night out of sheer excitement lol.

I filed on September 29th 2017. No RFE, No attorney, I used the help of the World’s best Immigration lawyer aka @sandranj who was kind enough to review my case at no cost. May God bless you forever!

Tbh when I was going through the abuse I had zero idea of VAWA at all until I stumbled upon this forum which is God sent  indeed. I gathered all documents and followed advice from VJ before submitting my application.

The abuse in my case was psychological and I had 2 psychological evaluationsdone. The first psychologist was unprofessional and messed up my evaluation and even refused to refund my money but the second one did a great job. I also wrote a very detailed affidavit and got affidavits from my family too. I sent in police clearance from my home country after receiving prima facie with the blue paper.

I also forgot to mention that I contacted my Congressman last week and he was told that I should hear within 90 days but yesterday I got an approval, meaning they were quicker.

To all those still waiting. Please don’t stop praying and hoping. There’s light at the end of the tunnel. I can’t emphasize enough the role of ‘praying’!

I am now waiting for my interview to be scheduled.

peace and blessing to you all! Thanks for being there 🤗

Congratulations. Praise the Lord.

@sandranj how come my EADs have been renewed consistently since I first filed in 2017 they kept letting me know they will use the fingerprint on file..even now ny c9 category renewal I sent in Feb 2019 they said same thing(fingerprint review completed)? Just curious

It's valid for 15 months, but they are messy and sometimes they do some unusual things.

Wait a minute, from what you mentioned earlier about your situation you still have an open i485 right? So what happens to it? Is there anyway you can get them to hold it while you file for vawa? The forms you listed are all there is but most folks just file i360 so that if its approved they go ahead with i485, but if its denied, you may be put in removal proceedings! Did you make up your mind not to use a lawyer?

USCIS is removing who filed just the I-360 and the petition was denied. It doesn't make any difference now if the person filed I-485 or not.

The lawyer information was incorrect. You could of have renew your EAD while your i485 was pending and got an extension of 180 days if you renewal was on time, and waited for the EAD renewal to arrived. You can still apply for an EAD to VSC if you still have your i485 pending, sent copy of the receipt along with i765 form. Your husband was an USC.  The wait time to apply for EAD / AP is when the abuser is an LPR, then after the approval you get an EAD and move foward with I485 base on priority date. etc...
This Vawa forum have educated me so much, is a blessing.

I am not sure if this is correct or helpful.

But my lawyer did tell me that work authorization is already part of I-360 while your VAWA case is pending. They will issue you work permit while you are waiting on your case. That's the rule.

I-360 Vawa will only provide an Work authorization once your Vawa is approved category C31. But if you file along with  I-360, I-485 / I-765 you will get a Work Authorization EAD Category C09 and is base on your I-485 pending application file Not your I-360. And than you can work while your Vawa pending....

There is around 60 different EAD Categories.... all depends on the immigration status and form file.

Ty for your respond. I wonder if you only informed them you're i360 filer or you described your case like you did in this forum?

Ah. Thank you.

You are very welcome. In part your lawyer is right you will get an EAD (work permit) with VAWA but only when is approved not while your vawa is pending this is when he miss inform you!

.... You can only get the work permit with An adjustment status application file along with I765 form and your vawa application... Trust me Lawyers sometimes makes more mistake and miss inform people. This forum will help you a lot.
