Hi VJ Family,

I got an update yesterday under VAWA for card production which means that my VAWA case has been approved!!

im so happy and relieved that God has lifted the burden from my shoulders at last! 

I cdnt even sleep last night out of sheer excitement lol.

I filed on September 29th 2017. No RFE, No attorney, I used the help of the World’s best Immigration lawyer aka @sandranj who was kind enough to review my case at no cost. May God bless you forever! 

Tbh when I was going through the abuse I had zero idea of VAWA at all until I stumbled upon this forum which is God sent  indeed. I gathered all documents and followed advice from VJ before submitting my application. 

The abuse in my case was psychological and I had 2 psychological evaluationsdone. The first psychologist was unprofessional and messed up my evaluation and even refused to refund my money but the second one did a great job. I also wrote a very detailed affidavit and got affidavits from my family too. I sent in police clearance from my home country after receiving prima facie with the blue paper.

I also forgot to mention that I contacted my Congressman last week and he was told that I should hear within 90 days but yesterday I got an approval, meaning they were quicker.

To all those still waiting. Please don’t stop praying and hoping. There’s light at the end of the tunnel. I can’t emphasize enough the role of ‘praying’!

I am now waiting for my interview to be scheduled.

I went to get my medical done on April 10 and because of the new format of the tuberculin test, it now takes 5-7 days instead of 2 to 3 days for the results. So yesterday, April 15 I got a call that my medical was ready for pick up. I picked it up and drove the 2 hours from my town to the service center to submit my medical at their provided Dropbox. Today I got the notice that my case was approved! Praise God! I started crying when I saw the  notice because I couldn’t believe that this long 8 year journey was finally paid off. 

 

Thank you to everyone here for the support and for keeping me sane. In god’s name, all of us will overcome this hurdle.

@Stillwinning!!!😊 Thank you for all you do everyday, encouraging so many to stay positive at a time when all hope looks lost. I'm sorry I can't be on here as much as I would like, so busy these days, and yes, it is positive, happy, enriching busy, can't complain at all 🙂

I tell people everyday of my life I am a living testimony of God's love and faithfulness. When a person one was married to for 16 years swears to destroy you because you are trying to find your own feet and financial independence and also because they know that their hold over you is coming to an end, they do everything in their power to try to hold you back, but they forget that the person they are trying to destroy is God's own baby, the harder they try to pull you down, as in my case, the higher God lifts me up, the miracles God has performing in my life has been something else, I tell you, for the fact that one's hands are clean, God will continue to fight our battles and give us victory in every area and corner of our lives, HE is a God that NEVER fails. I am living proof, everything the enemy tried to take from me, God has blessed me with on platters of gold, so who am I to complain? Please let us ALL trust God and watch HIM bestow HIS unending blessings upon us.

Congrats to all with approvals, and to those still waiting, remember prayer with works, and you will get positive news sooner than you expect. God wants us all to know that HE has given us status, not another human being. God will never share HIS glory with any man.

@Islanderk, Hi. When I experienced delay with my own EAD (same thing happened, associate attorney first filed under C31, and then a month later, the attorney refiled under C09 late October), in mid March of this year, last month, I emailed USCIS directly through my USCIS account to inquire why it was taking so long, and 2 weeks later my case status changed to card being produced, and 3 days later, approval letter went out and card went out a day after that, I received card in hand last week. So, I would suggest you try contacting them directly, they seem to respond faster that way, at least in my case they did. Good luck.
