I have a question but does the green card picture is the same for the ead, or do u need to take new biometrics once the i485 is being adjudicated??

I think they use the picture on file I noticed that the ead that was sent to me under i360 had same picture with my c9 category..actually that's was led me to assume they just use the existing one from biometrics.

Hi everyone! Just an update on my case. I had my interview on April 9. I didn’t have my medical but the officer told me that once they receive my medical, they will approve my case. I went to get my medical done on April 10 and because of the new format of the tuberculin test, it now takes 5-7 days instead of 2 to 3 days for the results. So yesterday, April 15 I got a call that my medical was ready for pick up. I picked it up and drove the 2 hours from my town to the service center to submit my medical at their provided Dropbox. Today I got the notice that my case was approved! Praise God! I started crying when I saw the  notice because I couldn’t believe that this long 8 year journey was finally paid off.

Thank you to everyone here for the support and for keeping me sane. In god’s name, all of us will overcome this hurdle.

Does the biometric expire? Do we need a new one after two years? My last biometric was in Feb 2017.

I asked my lawyer the same question and he said that there’s a chance they will ask for fingerprints before sending the green card.

In the interview, the officer asked me to fingerprint both my index fingers before the interview started, I think though that was just a verification fingerprint to make sure it’s me.

I think you have absolutely nothing to worry about! They approved you and you will get your green card asap! If they needed that from you they would have told you! Everything seems okay that's why you were approved! Don't know if this makes sense to you..😊

Does anybody knows the accurate timeline Chicago base processing time for I485?

Anybody here in this forum from Chicago?

10/29/18 Vawa Approval

3/13/19 Courtesy Letter

Please, please...

Looks like there are not many Chicago folks in the building! But I've told you severally to relax they will get to you dear😊 I totally understand your anxiety but don't let it overwhelm you. Remember there was a time you waited for vawa to get approved? Remember also after approval you kept on about courtesy letter which you still got? Certainly your interview is next..if you patiently wait for it like others did! 💪🇺🇸 it will come!

At a glance, even though I am not an attorney or the smartest person here..I would first secure my immigration status before venturing on such endeavors requiring staying out of the U.S. for long periods! Don't think it's the wise thing to do..hopefully @sandranj or anyone else who knows more can input! That said..I really hope your case gets approved real quick!

Submit the UN job offer and ask them to expedite mentioning  USCIS is adjudicating cases filed in September 2017 and you submitted in Feb 2017 and explain the job will require some training abroad and you don’t want to risk traveling abroad before VAWA adjudication.

I started my process using Catholic charities and shortly after that the attorney resigned Catholic charities. when i realized that i wouldn't get my work permit until my vawa was approved i filed under c09 November 22 2018 and got my receipt and it stated that they'd use my old biometric. March 13 i sought help from my congressman but no update from the congressman or uscis.. Is there anything i can do to get my work permit.. I really need to work

Wait a minute, from what you mentioned earlier about your situation you still have an open i485 right? So what happens to it? Is there anyway you can get them to hold it while you file for vawa? The forms you listed are all there is but most folks just file i360 so that if its approved they go ahead with i485, but if its denied, you may be put in removal proceedings! Did you make up your mind not to use a lawyer?

My 485 was considered abandoned due to wife not showing up and I am a bit confused if it still could be used alongside 360 to be filed.

I also decided to file myself and use the help of an attorney when push comes to shove.

Got you, well like you said if you need to file a new one and also hire an attorney then do so! It's a forward ever journey!😊wish you all the best!
