Unfortunately, the office refused to renew my DL after I showed i797C, SSN and a letter about “EAD 180 days extension” up to her. Same thing happened to me when I tried to renew my DL last year. My EAD came later than I expected and my license expired. I had the 180 extension as well. The DMV needs an actual date not just an estimation of 180 days. So they don’t renew it. But my work accepted it, so I had to take public transport. My EAD came 3 weeks later.

Thanks for you reply. So there is no way I can renew my DL? It is so weird. I will go to other DMVs tomorrow, maybe I can get some good news.

Look show them this picture. I took screen shot for you from PA DMV

They need to renew your DL with 180 days extension. Talk them and show them.

Actually I showed all documents they needed. But she still refused to renew my DL. So weird!

Just print out 12 pages and show important paragraphs

Some DMV employees don't know anything. So always try to talk to supervisor or manager at DMV. 

Don't forget show the documents first ( from DMV website ) . If they still making problems, tell them i want to talk  supervisor or manager.

 

It's your right, they have to give it.

I think it different in other states, i renewed mine twice with the 180 extension.  May be you should go back there and insist on seeing the supervisor. When i presented the 180 days the person at the counter was not sure what to do, he went and and showed the supervisor then came back  and renewed it for me.
