Yes, i attached copies of their ID’s and had it notarized.

Exactly the very same thing I did! But this shouldn't discourage anyone..as I have seen even unnotarized (excuse my improvised word)😂😂 letters scale through! I have read all sorts of evidence on this here forum. It all ends at the discretion of the officers at vermont! That's why i always reiterate praying for favour alongside valid proofs!

Hi Everyone! I just want to share my experience in using my EAD/AP card. Got my card on hand on March 18, 2019, decided to go to my home country (Philippines) on March 22 (Yes, I flew immediately to take advantage of the low-cost fare :D and also was very excited to see my family). I haven't been home for almost 6 years, so the experience was surreal and it was wonderful to be with my family again. I stayed there for 2 weeks. When I came back, I was brought to another room, waited for 2 mins for the officer to call my name (it was 12 midnight so there was not a lot of people), and asked me only 2 things, 1) "What is your address?'  2) "What food do you have in your luggage"? then he let me go. I was so happy I almost cried while waiting for my luggage. I want to thank @CASTIEL and @FeDaniela for sharing their experiences with me. Prayers really helped me thru. I thank God for hearing them. 🙏

BTW, I also overstayed for almost 2 years and Port of Entry is in JFK-NYC.

Welcome Back!!!

I want to echo this. According to what Sandra has posted everyone should get the affidavits notarized if at all possible. The adjudication officer does have ultimate discretion when reviewing evidence. If a statement is presented and it is not notarized the officer does not have to acknowledge it or give it the same weight as a notarized statement. Getting something notarized is very simple. Many banks offer free notary services to their customers or even some places like Mail box etc stores offer notary services for a few dollars. One should be able to use google to find local notaries.

I believe someone here has done it successfully as I remember reading sonething like that on here..give it a try..you never know😊

Many people here have gotten citizenship at 3yrs through VAWA. Sometimes they have to send the policy memo showing they are eligible but they are 100% eligible at 3 yrs based on VAWA approved GC.

Good afternoon all! I was wondering if now that I have my ead and waiting for my ssn to come. Can I apply for fafsa? Last time I called to fafsa they told me I have to be a permament resident but I dont think the person I called knew about non citizens that qualify for fafsa. I want to apply for fafsa because my summer classes will be 827 each. 1600 in total 😓 and thats too much for me. Do yall think I can apply for fafsa with prima facie and once I have my ssn? I havent apply for fafsa yet because i didnt had a social last year and now im barely going to have it.

From what I understand the prima facie should make you eligible for FASFA , If you need help with this you can send me a message and I will see what I can do to help you.   https://ifap.ed.gov/fsahandbook/attachments/1819FSAHbkVol1Ch2.pdf

This 3 years to obtain citizenship is only apply if the abuser is a Us citizen? if the abuser is an LPR and you got your GC thru VAWA you need to wait 5 years?? or can submit at 3 years as well?

@username_taken If you filed a VAWA self-petition on Form I-360, or a VAWA-based abuse waiver with Form I-751, or received VAWA-based cancellation of removal, you may take advantage of this three-year rule if you were the abused spouse or child of a U.S. citizen and meet the additional criteria described below.

If, however, you are married to a lawful permanent resident (LPR), not a citizen, then you must wait the normal five years as a green card holder before applying for naturalization, unless your abusive spouse or parent naturalizes.

Hello folks, I went to the dmv to renew my DL with the letter of “EAD 180 days extension” today in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, the office refused to renew my DL after I showed i797C, SSN and a letter about “EAD 180 days extension” up to her. I told her that I don’t receive the new EAD card yet, but according to the Immigration law, there is automatic 180 days extension with my EAD card. But she said the DMVs are only followed federal laws. So she cannot give me the new DL. What should I do next? Can you guys give me some opinions? Thanks a lot!
