Hi Everyone! I just want to share my experience in using my EAD/AP card. Got my card on hand on March 18, 2019, decided to go to my home country (Philippines) on March 22 (Yes, I flew immediately to take advantage of the low-cost fare :D and also was very excited to see my family). I haven't been home for almost 6 years, so the experience was surreal and it was wonderful to be with my family again. I stayed there for 2 weeks. When I came back, I was brought to another room, waited for 2 mins for the officer to call my name (it was 12 midnight so there was not a lot of people), and asked me only 2 things, 1) "What is your address?'  2) "What food do you have in your luggage"? then he let me go. I was so happy I almost cried while waiting for my luggage. I want to thank @CASTIEL and @FeDaniela for sharing their experiences with me. Prayers really helped me thru. I thank God for hearing them. 🙏

BTW, I also overstayed for almost 2 years and Port of Entry is in JFK-NYC.

Wow! Thanks for sharing and welcome back!😊 good to know it went smoothly and I hope this encourages some of us still sceptical about travelling before getting our green cards LOL 👍

Hi Guys

my Lawyer called me  and he said i have my green card interview scheduled on May 9th . Does anybody know what documents i have take it with me  for approved VAWA  Case .

my case was approved in September 2018 and local office is Raleigh North Carolina.

I received a letter with a list that had check boxes on what I needed to bring. That includes the interview notice, passport, EAD, picture ID, i94, employment letter and or pay stubs, i698 (medical), and all copies of documents that submitted to the uscis for my case.

Aside from that, I also brought my birth certificate, marriage license (if your still married) and all my old passports with all old US visas.

She only asked to see the passport, picture id, ead, i94, and she asked for the medical which I didn’t have at the time.

But every officer asks for different things. So if you have the list from your interview notice, then bring everything they asked on the list.

Your lawyer should have sent it earlier, but it might work out for you. You should receive the receipt before May 25, concentrate on this. Then you take a copy of the receipt plus the new UCSIS rule (6 months EAD extension for same category renewal- just google it.) And you can wait to receive the new EAD. Don’t worry too much about it.

Hello all,

My AOS has been denied due to the wife not attending interview with me and considering filing VAWA.

I also received a letter from the immigration judge to appear in court sometime in October yesterday afternoon.

Can I proceed with filing VAWA i.e -i-360, i-485, i-765, i-131, g-1145 if I have all documentary evidence to support my claim?

The wife has been having an affair with another male her mum introduced her to and threatened I take responsibility for a child that isn't mine. ( So she refused to attend 10yr GC interview with me) which resulted to a denial or abandonment as notice relayed.

Birth Certificates (Yours, Abuser,Kids in common)

Passports

Police Records

Therapy Sessions

Psychiatrist Sessions

Pictures

Affidavits from friends and family and Doctors

Bank Statements

Mortgage or Rental Contracts

 Income Taxes

Utilities Bills

All these are documents are necessary plus more...

Thank you for the swift response.

Would you recommend self-filing or the use of a good immigration attorney?

I have all the evidence I need and more.

Thanks again.

Hi Ma’am... can I ask my I 485 interview was held on Mar 13 but they gave white paper saying it’s held for review.. it’s been a month my c31 was will expire in October so I have to renew it before expiration ... Do I have to pay fee for it as for my daughter also I applied  for renewal i765 when aos was pending and I had to pay the fees too .. it’s been 3 months no response on her was. I requested for her deferred status 3 months back but no answer .. now I’m stuck as neither ead or any news from our interview is coming... pls suggest..

thx

There is no fee to renew using the same category but as I  explained here before the USCIS  keeps asking people to pay the fees to renew then just to be safe file form I-912.

I understand you fell broken..but our words are quite powerful! Proclaim positivity! Let it reflect your name also and utterances! By all means go ahead and file as long as you have all the supporting documents! Remember that infidelity is not a qualification for vawa but abuse! Also its not clear if you're already a permanent resident with the 2yr green card trying to lift the conditions....as you mentioned your spouse refused to attend the 10yr GC interview with you..as there are other categories you are eligible for if that is the case..from my understanding on this forum! Please throw more light if you may. And Goodluck with the whole process dear!
