So, Is that possible to file divorce without reporting abuse ? we are now separated . I am now living in different county for more than 6 months.   I am so scared to confront my spouse in the court as my spouse family and my spouse  threatened me.They are so violent. I don't want to provide any evidence that I have to answer face to face in front of my spouse. And, also I can't rely on reporting to the cops as they will not provide me safety 24/7 before something happens.  And what will happen if my spouse deny the incidents of the abuses ? I just want the divorce

File as irreconcilable differences as the reason for divorce you do not have to state anything at all, that's what am doing though very afraid to see him in court

Could be anything..could be it was pending security check and they received feedback/correspondence but the good news is that they are working on your case again and it won't be long before you get the good news!

You don’t have to be present to get divorce, you can file the petition and get him served thru the lawyer and court system. Where are you? Texas? If you are in Dallas area Alma Benavides is a Divorce Lawyer, the best!

I will advise you not to have mediation so you don’t have to see your abuser.

I know how scary it must be, being there, done it!

If you have Police Reporta tell your lawyer so you can file under abused.

Divorce is divorce. It can be for a number of reasons..someone had mentioned irreconcilable differences and they are right! If its uncontested then it's much easier. If you feel you need to severe all ties with your abuser as part of a safety plan to put distance between you guys by all means go ahead. Lawyer up though.👍

Anyone here had 2 RFE’s?

I’m November 2017 filer and I had RFE on the very beginning asking for good moral and bonafide marriage! Today my status updated saying “Request for additional evidence”

I’m completely worried because I already sent good moral and I don’t have any other proof for bonafide marriage.

What it could be? Is that too bad?

@sandranj  Please help me!!

Hi Poupis we had just chatted about a week ago concerning our cases..anyway..it's best to relax and see what the RFE is about..it might be something really accessible. For bonafide marriage or shared residence..you can get affidavits from friends/family/neighbors. First things first..get a hold of it, see what they want and get to work! For your sake I truly hope it goes smoothly.

I need help. My VAWA was approved on August 1, 2018 and according to USCIS website, the case was transferred to another office on August 29. Up until this morning, April 8 - it says that same thing.

This morning my lawyer called and said on Friday they received a letter dated March 26 that my interview is set for tomorrow April 9. So I’m freaking out. I don’t know what to expect.

My lawyer is out of state and said that he is contacting a local attorney to accompany me to the interview. Is that normal?  Coz I’ve seen a lot of people here say they went to the interview by themselves. So now I think there’s a problem since a lawyer has to come.

Also the letter says something about the interview being videotaped. Is that normal? I’m seriously going crazy.

Im grateful that this could be it and i have conquered and will finally be a permanent resident but at the same time I’m nervous about it bein suck short notice.

If Sandra is reading this or if anyone

can advice me or if you have the same situation. Please. I’m desperate.
