Could you please share which forms did you send besides i 360 and i 765? Did you sent an i 485? Because my i 765 is in the c31 category and it seems like I'll have to wait until my i 360 is approved which is super frustrating, I need to work geez

Goodmorning first of all.😊👋 anyways my lawyer sent out i485 and 1765 initially before I took the Vawa route. So I've been working with EAD c9 category for a couple of years now..while waiting for Vawa. Got the card in production on 28th of March then card mailed out 1st of April. Will pick up from my lawyer by Fri. Is there anything else you wanted to know? I hope you get your results fast.

I will also like to know your timeline as it will help give a predictable timeframe of your impending wait time. Please know that if you filed i485 as a result of being married to your abuser you are eligible for the c9 category. But the Vawa c31 will only be sent out when your Vawa is approved.

My lawyer sent only i 360 and i 765 NO i 485 a lot of people are telling me I have the right to a i 485 will have to ask her for all the forms she sent and ask another lawyer to fix the problem, my lawyer doesn't want to admit she screwed up

 

The received dates for i 360 and i 765 are 02/26/2019

While you are eligible for 1485, most attorneys discourage it for the unfortunate implication in the event your vawa gets denied, you will be placed in removal proceedings. Did your abuser file for you initially?

Hey guys. I hope y'all are doing great today. Does anyone have any updates on VAWA reauthorization in Congress? I know the Bill authorizing VAWA expired during the govt shutdown. And i know that VAWA funding wasnt included in the Bill that was signed to reopen the gov't. I also came across some news that voting to reauthorization VAWA bill started in Congress yesterday but i seem not to be getting any updates on the voting and the amendments. I am hearing rumors of amendments that may reduce protection on VAWA victims and i am freaking out. My VAWA application is just 10 months now and i pray the Congress doesnt make a crazy move. Any one with updates on the voting for VAWA reauthorization so far?

Your Marriage base I485 was withdrew, than you can file a new I485 base on your Vawa now, along with I765 C09 category.

Your wife was a USC your can file I485 /i765 with VSC, and be able to work until your Vawa case gets approve.

Hope so too... My Vawa is also 10 months now.

Yes, since I was an immediate relative to an us citizen (my spouse) Why do you ask?

First for your benefit, second for the reason you just stated..so definitely yes you are qualified for the c9 also.

I had a long wait based on my experience, my EAD under c31 was produced on Jan 8, received it after a couple of days later on but my status of my case was approved changed on March 22 and received the approval notice in a week thereafter. 

 

What does priorty date mean on that notice please? Anyone to help me with this please?

Fellow Filers!!

 

I had my 485 interview yesterday, it was super simple. It took 20min. The officer asked me for my medical and then all the questions from the form.. If you have a felony, if you plan to be a spy, if you have done drug traffiking, those types of questions. He asked to clarify which one was my first and second husband because my first husband had also petiton for me but we withdrew the case before the interview and later divorced. He then said ok! Im going to approve you. Your card will be for 10 years and should come in the mail before the end of the month. He was super professional and made me feel very comfortable. At the end I asked this is it?? and he laugh and said yep! You have an approved VAWA so everything is done. Congratulations. That was at 10:20am at around 2:30 I received an update that my card was under production for my I-485. 

I will post my timeline below.

 

For all of you waiting.. keep having faith. This was a very very difficult process for me. There were many moments where I was just going  to leave back home. Dont quit and dont get discourage. Everyone's journey is different just have faith in the system and in whatever you believe in. Thank you all so much for the support.. This process would have been much more difficult if I didnt have this platform. Special thank you to @sandranj Thank you for all the guidence. Sending mountains of good energy and blessings to all of you.  

 

My timeline:

May 15th 2017: I-360 Receipt Date

June 9th 2017: 1st Prima Facie

March 14th 2017: I-485 Interview This was for the case my ex husband had filed for me. I went to the interview by my self as asked the immigration officer to hold this case until VAWA approval.

December 11th 2017: 2nd Prima Facie

June 7th 2018: 3rd Prima Facie

June 1st 2018: EAD (C9) Receipt Date

I didn't have a bio-metric apportionment for this EAD because they used my old ones. 

July 19th 2018: EAD (C9) in hand

August 28th 2018: Card under production for form I-360

September 5th 2018: Card was mailed to me for form I-360

September 6th 2018: Your case was approved.

*No RFE's

March 22nd 2019: Interview notice was mailed to me

April 2nd 2019: I-485 Interview

April 2nd 2019: My case was updated to Card Under Production
