I filed my package on January 2018, received one RFE in March 2018 for GMC. Still waiting the response from USCIS.ย

That was a request for initial evidence..you don't need to expect any reply..if they need anything more they will let you or your attorney know. This is just initial evidence needed to determine if you qualify to petition for VAWA..before they start working on your case!

What month did you apply? I am a 2018 filer and Iโ€™m curious to know if they started processing 2018 yet

With USCIS you never know! But apparently they are processing late 2017 cases and earlier 2017 cases..some folks that filed early and mid 2017 are still waiting to get approved! But it won't be long now..before we start hearing of 2018 cases...hope and pray! All things are possible!๐Ÿ˜Š

Maybe not, People in this situation dont always have luxury to think about school, and those in school struggle as well. Wanting to do something and actually being able to get going are two different things... please be more sensitive going forward.ย

ย

You can go to school regardless of your status, as long as you shell out the $$$$

ย

Were you a student at a university before this? Have you reached out to the admissions office at the school? Remember, you have applied for 360, you are not undocumented... you have no reason to be scared of asking university/student affairs/admission office.ย

ย

Everyone's situation is unique, general status is "in process of obtaining immigration benefits", broadly speaking.ย

good luck.ย

Hi @dreamer1ย , wanted to share my own experience with school. My VAWA just got approved in April. I started my Masters program last year September(FALL) . The only thing i needed is my prima facie which had not expired to show the school and you will need print some page online from US education department showing that VAWA applicants can get financial aid.ย https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/eligibility/non-us-citizensย

ย

Some of the schools know and some dont. so show them that page. when you do they wont disturb you anymore. I particularly didnt have any issues with my school.ย  So, you can go to school with a pending VAWA application.ย

My Prima Facie expires on July 2019, it was good for a year. It says if a decision is notย made on my case it will be automatic extended... My questions is will Vermont just mail the Prima Facie extension or do i have to requested??? Anyone have received the Prima Facie extension without requesting it to Vermont unit.

I always write them a letter explaining about expiration of my prima facie. make sure you attach your attorney G-28 as well. I usually send them a request 2 weeks before expiration. As my 3rd prima facie is expiring next week, I am sending them a request for 4th one today.ย

Yes of course! Prima facie doesn't put anything on lock down! It's merely to determine if you meet the requirements at a glance....before processing the case proper! I got rfe long after my prima facie!ย

what documents they requested from you?

I hope and pray that they will start processing 2018 filers very soon. I am April 2018, I received a RFE in July 2018 for good moralย they got my answer to the RFE in August 2018 and I got prima facie in August 2018 thatโ€™s valid for one year, itโ€™s been silent ever since. I hope you get your approval this monthย

Of course they will soon start processing 2018 cases..it can only go forward right?๐Ÿ˜Š but the thing is they are still processing 2017 cases at the moment..anyway the RFE you got was request for initial evidence..hopefully your approval comes faster than you imagined! #fingers crossed!

Wow.. that's hard RFE. I hope mine is simple. i shared my residence with her family house. We leased an apartment for 2 months only which I included in my initial package. Then, we moved to her parent's house

Submit everything you have including the tax you filed as married even though your spouse didn't want you to add her..explain in your affidavit why and the argument that you had..you pretty much have what you need! Believe me even with the extensive RFE I received..I didn't really have a whole lot of documents to support my petition but explained why intensively in my affidavit! There was a valid and credible reason why with proofs! I had letters to both of us..few bills, lease, monthly receipts, landlord wrote a letter,ย  pictures, self affidavit, letter from family and friends, from his side and mine..and the GRACE of GOD! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™
