I trust everyone is doing very well.

I'm sorry I haven't been on here in so long, been so busy, but that is exactly what I need to fill the waiting time 🙂

I want to say a BIG congratulations to all  the approvals, you have all been so patient and it has paid off (I only read the last 2-3 pages, sorry there were so many pages I couldn't go all the way back, time constraint), and to anyone waiting, be patient, keep busy and trust the Almighty God that your time is already here, positive affirmations work wonders, at least for me 🙂

Hi everyone!! Happy to read lso many GC approvals ! Hi had to renew my work authorization it was expired may 25 but my job accepted the 180 days extension thank God !! My vawa was approved last year may 2018 and i485 was transferred to my local office on OCT 16 2018 .. still waiting on interview!!! Has anybody else renewed the work authorization recently  ?? Can anyone tell me how long did it take to get the new card???

All you have to do is show up to your biometrics appointment and get your fingerprints taken.

No, I want to get my background check from FBI for VAWA application. 

I am confused that I can send FD-258  on my own i.e. take the finger prints and fill the form or I need to go somwhere such as police station or any third party to get this thing done.

How does the marriage annulment affect your VAWA case? My spouse is threatening me to start marriage annulment process. I am about to apply for VAWA. I will start the divorce process in  this month too.

It would void the process. Don't let this happen! Check the laws on your state. In some states it is soooo difficult and expensive to do it, that unless your ex has a ton of money, he/she won't even be able to start the process.

If I were you, to be on the safe side, I would start the divorce process asap.

FOLKS, I have the best news everrrrrr!!! About two hours ago I started to receive many text messages, app notifications, emails for my I-485, NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED!!!! Woohoo

I still cannot believe it! God is so good and faithful!

I will be able to see my parents, stop worrying about work permit renewals, and having to talk about my life with the evil abuser. I'm so ready to leave this nightmare behind me.

Thanks for all the support from this wonderful forum! For folks who are still waiting, your time will come! I still remember when I found this forum two years ago, feeling so scared and helpful... I read many threads while applying for VAWA. And now, I gladly write that I am one more successful story for visa journey folks and statistics.

The implication of an annulment is that you won't have a qualifying relationship- marriage with your spouse! Which is one of the requirements to be eligible for the petition! If you have an attorney he knows exactly what step to take! You should send a message to sandra to give legal advice out of the kindness of her heart!

Hey..it's taking longer this times..I renewed my c9 in Feb..ay least that's when I sent it in..still waiting as they said it's been processed! Don't solely depend on 180 days extension..send your renewal in!

Yes my lawyer sent it and i got the receipt.. i also had to pay my lawyer said it was bc i have 2 jobs so it was like $ 412
