Sharing my case info:

Even though I filed for extreme cruelty waiver for removal of conditions on my green card, my case was treated as  VAWA case. During my N400 interview, VAWA word was highlighted on top of the application when I had to sign for travel and employment updates. Male here.

5/22- There was no question asked in the N400 interview (about greencard) so I did not have to prove bonafide marriage or abuses as I submitted following evidence during removal of conditions:

-Narrative of what happened, how it happened and where it happened,

-Text messages from my wife,

-Pictures when we lived together,

-Affidavits from my family,

-Medical report and prescriptions/evaluations,

-Bank account statements/health and car insurance/401K statements/Lease agreement statements - to show Bonafide marriage

5/24 - N400 has been approved. Waiting for oath ceremony.

My previous lawyer for green card filing told me that case could be even stronger if I had any police report/restraining order. Get these if you can.

Please don't give up. Don't tolerate the abuse/cruelty. Document even a small threat. No one is a slave.

Best wishes to all and I hope you emerge stronger from this experience.

Congratulations on your US Citizenship!! You finalize this road.

Any Violence against women or man is now called VAWA, (Violence Against Women Act) not DV (domestic violence) anymore.

Housing department in my application in top said Vawa...

Medicaid letter (Vawa)

My Landlords also send me Lease renewal with an attach VAWA Housing Law (no one can’t discriminate you for being a victim) I ask my neighbor every body had this extra letter for Vawa i thought it was just form me and I was worried everybody knew lol but No the Government has take the Name Vawa for all related domestic violence incidents... So you are consider a Vawa applicant a violence was committed against you even after conditional Green card, although you did not file I-360 VAWA to USCIS like we all did.  :)
