I posted about the picnic before, but probably many people did not read about the picnic then  I am posting here again, 14 people confirmed so far.

Hi Folks,  I didn't have a meetup in the past 2 years with the visa journey's members, I used to have every year, but I will have a picnic in  Central Park(NYC) on June 15, 2019 at 1.30pm. Let me know please if you want to be there, please send me a pm ok. Please bring some blanket or towel and some typical food from your home country, if possible, or any other food, we will share the food. You can bring who you want(kids, mother, friends).

I am happy to report that I will assist to the meeting at Central Park. I would like to know exactly where so I can meet you all. I am flying from Chicago. Looking forward to meet you @sandranj , @FeDaniela, @Stillwinning!!!😊, @Tiffy88, @CASTIEL, @Milestone2017 and more of you all!!! ☺️

Update guys. I finally got my green card in hand. My Journey has ended but a word of encouragement don’t give up hope and keep on fighting. If you have a lawyer you got to be behind them with everything in your benefit and if you don’t have a lawyer just ask questions here and you will get an answer.

How long it takes to get your GC on had after you get the notification that card is in production . Do you get a notification when it is mail

Basically 5 days.

New Card is being produced     5.13.

Case Approved                            5.14.

Card Mail                                      5.15.

Card Delivered to Lawyers         5.17.

Then I got the card on 5.22. because my lawyers weren’t answering their phones. Those are the notifications I got. Congrats on your approval.

I left some message to pass to them that I don’t wanna waste my time going there and if I do I have to take some sort of action because 6 hours away is not a joke drive. So they sent it.

Yes if the extreme cruelty evidence you submitted with your I-751 form were credible to USCIS they will just send you your Green Card, but if they had have any doubts they would’ve request an interview all depends on the Officer and the evidence submitted!!! But congratulations!!! and good luck on you N400 interview

Sharing my case info:

Even though I filed for extreme cruelty waiver for removal of conditions on my green card, my case was treated as  VAWA case. During my N400 interview, VAWA word was highlighted on top of the application when I had to sign for travel and employment updates. Male here.

5/22- There was no question asked in the N400 interview (about greencard) so I did not have to prove bonafide marriage or abuses as I submitted following evidence during removal of conditions:

-Narrative of what happened, how it happened and where it happened,

-Text messages from my wife,

-Pictures when we lived together,

-Affidavits from my family,

-Medical report and prescriptions/evaluations,

-Bank account statements/health and car insurance/401K statements/Lease agreement statements - to show Bonafide marriage

5/24 - N400 has been approved. Waiting for oath ceremony.

My previous lawyer for green card filing told me that case could be even stronger if I had any police report/restraining order. Get these if you can.

Please don't give up. Don't tolerate the abuse/cruelty. Document even a small threat. No one is a slave.

Best wishes to all and I hope you emerge stronger from this experience.

Hi dear I can understand that this can be very distressing, but it will all come together! Your lawyer should have filed for renewal much earlier it helps! Receipts sometimes take long to come in..you will still get it..although it's taking really long..guess they are really backlogged! Your case is definitely with USCIS..was wondering when you said it was with vawa not uscis😊 Vawa is the petition handled by the Vermont branch of USCIS! They probably are not updating you via phone because vawa cases are very confidential! Your lawyer needs to be more proactive..sometimes if you don't follow up, they relax as well..you need to be on top of matters concerning your case..pressure the lawyer from time to time!  They wouldn't like it but it's for your own good! Tell your lawyer to schedule and infopass or better still contact your congressman to enquire on your behalf for things to move along! Google your representative call or go visit them..table your enquiry!

Hello guys,

so I contacted the congressman representative in my area, explained all to him and he requested for my email and ask me to fill out a form and add the letter of termination from employer.

my issue is, firstly my employer is not saying anything and I don’t want to be the one to trigger anything, I can’t afford to be out of job,

also on the attachment he sent I need to put the receipt number which I don’t even have...I can’t respond to him without having this 2things, I don’t know if to wait or send it that way.

I even called my lawyer for update and all he said was we have to wait.

i don’t even know what to think or do.

Your lawyer like I said before is not proactive! The sad thing is that at this point, if he's not willing to move around for you, there's really not much you can do by yourself except schedule an infopass like I suggested earlier! Your lawyer can write to Vermont since he's the representative on file..I'm perplexed why he ain't doing that! You need to pressure him..go to the office and make him see reasons..it's better than over the phone conversations! By all means schedule an infopass!
