VAWA, Part 13

Hello everyone! 

My I-485 was approved same day as my interview!! I wish everyone good luck and don’t worry nothing was ever updated on my online account since vawa approval. I didn’t even get an update stating that my interview was scheduled. So make sure wherever you are getting your mail is valid. I also didn’t get the letter for the interview until 2 weeks before the date. Here is my timeline 

 

03-2017 - i360, i485 filed

06-2018 - i360 approved

08-2018 - 1485 transferred to local office

05-2019 - interview, approval 

 

My FO was the nicest lady, I wish everyone gets her as their officer as well. The interview took about 15 minutes, went through the application, had me sign then she says she will follow up with her supervisor and she will try to get it done by the end of the day. 4:30pm I got an update on my I-485 that a new card was being produced. 

 

I wish everyone good luck and don’t dwell on those online updates, yours is coming!

To avoid this entire hassle of mails and address changes - isn’t it easier to use your lawyers office as the mailing address ? 

I thought your lawyer office can also be used to send all mails regarding your vawa just to be safe and ensure your ( abuser ) doesn’t get it .

 

I could be wrong - just asking

Sure..my lawyer gets all the mails..that's attorneys copy..they also send me mines..this is only regarding i485 though..for i360 my lawyer gets all mails.

Yes you are right you can use your lawyers office but you still have to update your actual address with USCIS if you move. never get any mail to my house all my mail goes to my lawyer and she’s the one who emails me and let’s me know updates.

HI everyone.

 

I have not posted in about a year. I received a lot of support on this forum. I got my GC in December 2017. Things have been good since then. It is wonderful to not worry constantly.

 

A few months ago, I purchased a house and moved. I sent a change of address form to VSC immediately after this. I have not received any sort of acknowledgement about this. It has now been 2 months. Am I supposed to get something?

Hey there congrats on your greencard and progress generally. Happy for you!😀 I believe everything is fine as you already got your greencard..perhaps that's why there's been no further need for Vermont to send any mail..you will probably only get letters from them if there's a need.( looking unlikely).
