What do I need to do if I feel threatened by by wife. She called me unexpectedly today asking where I was and cursing on the phone. Something don’t feel right, I feel it in me.

She moved out of our house after we had a big fight and made a statement saying she’ll ruin my life. She took the keys and I’ve changed the locks. I don’t want to file for a restraining order cause the court has to let her know I filed for one. Am yet to file my Vawa cause am still putting my documents and attorney fees together at the same time attending counseling. My wife is very unpredictable and am scared cause I walk alone from work and stay alone now since she moved out. I don’t want to break my lease and move out cause we all know what happens when one breaks their apartment lease in America.

GET THE ORDER OF PROTECTION, This is not only for your safety and peace of mind this is also a credible proof of abuse, in your words I can sense your fear to face your wife this control have to stop.

I went thru this, my husband was outside my apt, calling non stop and leaving threatened message that he will brake my face, I was so scare to arrived home that i went to the nearest police percent around my house and file a complaint and a restraining order, the police made the report and referral me to the family court  i went next date and the judge grand me the Temporary order of protection this is only until He was serve and we have to stand in front of the judge to extend the Order for a Year...  The order of protection have help me a lot in every way, I feel save, I apply for housing, Medicaid and they all ask for a proof of abuse together with prima facie and the Order of protection is one of the valid ones... Do it first for your well being and safety.///

Is it true uscis as no access to pending i-485 once i file for vawa

USCIS is the authority we hand immigration matters to..so they have access to immigration petitions, however there is division of labour as with other establishments. Vermont is in charge of vawa i360 and U-visas etc... But even if you have a pending i485, the moment you file for vawa Vermont branch will have jurisdiction over your pending i485 and i360 until it's adjudicated, then the i485 is decided at your local office. I hope this makes some sense to you dear.

Is not they don't have access to a pending I-485, USCIS have access to everything, But they cannot provide any type of information over the phone once you file for VAWA, Once Vawa petition is submitted is very confidential.

All communication, any changes, any information, any other petition like I-485 linked to an I-360 have to go thru VERMONT in writing. Attorney only if he or she is on record on the I-360 can contact VAWA T/U customer service line, this number is listed on the I-360 receipt.

USCIS is not going to be disclosing anything about your case to you dear..the most they told you is what it is! That your case has been put on hold! I have gone through all these..so I'm speaking from personal experience! They will definitely transfer your case like they did mine..I got an update online and also a letter from them informing me of the action taken! If you'll like to know more about your case you will have to schedule an infopass! Your vawa case is very confidential as you have been told! Do not expect much info over the phone as it won't be given! Your case may have been transferred already..but they will still let you know..online and in writing! Best wait for it..or like I said schedule an infopass!

The interview was cancelled but not your I-485. If you haven't received any Denial letter is still on hold, that why they did not give you any answer is linked to your I-360 already, sometime they do send a transfer notice sometimes they don't, Did you make the change of address in writing to Vermont ?? you have to do change of address in writing to Vermont include your -I-360 and I-485 receipt request to be change in both,
