Keep holding on your that close. Reason I asked was my status changed within 2 hours of leaving the interview to “your new card is being produced” and yesterday it changed again to “case was approved”.  I didn’t see you post saying it changed to being Approval so I was wondering just a bit. You will get your Green Card thou.

Thank you

@Stillwinning!!!😊 thank you very much and I’m still hoping and praying for all of you guys. Just pray and believe that it will happen. I’m here as a testimony so you can all use it as a motivation. I got 5 RFE’s, my lawyer told me I was gonna get denied and was going through a lot. I held on without a job for such a long time and just believed. And here I am almost at the finish line. God is great all the time. What is yours will always be yours.

They will correct it at the interview because you have to show them your original birth certificate. They will also instruct you that during the interview any corrections you should let them know. Hope it helps.

Thank you Dear

My EAD renewal was submitted on 8/8/2018, My EAD 180 days extension was expiring on June 2019, So middle of April 2019 I google my Congressman which it depends on borough, district and zip codes,  I am in NYC since it was close to my house I went personally to their office, fill out their release form authorizing them to contact USCIS on my behalf, they ask for a proof of address I gave them Electrical bill, My ID, and my I-797C Receipts. USCIS requested proof for them to expedited which i submitted. Everything took 20 days From congressman inquired to received EAD on hand. By the way I received EAD on hand yesterday 5/13/19 :)  and I renew my Driver license today too....

@FeDaniela Congratulations! Stories with positive outcomes keep my faith up. I have started collecting the document and once I get everything done, I’m heading to the office. My Congresswoman btw, is AOC which I hoped will really help me bec she’s very outspoken and supportive with women and diversity. Hopefully, I get lucky too. Thank you for this input. It gave me an idea of what needs to be done first.

Hey, yes it worked for me. A job offer is a very important document for the EAD expedite. My first EAD was expedited through a Congressman who sent my job offer letter to the USCIS; it took around two weeks. The second time (EAD renewal after VAWA was submitted), I contacted the Ombudsman and my employer sent him a letter asking to issue the work permit because I would lose my job if the work permit expires and they did not have anyone else who could work on the project. It took two months! I would definitely advise to contact the congressman.

First, you have to find a congressman representing your area. https://ziplook.house.gov/htbin/findrep_house Second, send them a short e-mail using a contact form on their website, describe your case when sending them this e-mail. They will also ask you to sign a privacy release form which can be found on their website. Then, after sending an e-mail, call them in a day or two if they don't get back to you! GOOD LUCK!

You can also contact the senator but they are quite busy and it usually takes more time for them to get to your case.

@lolaB998 thank you so much for the information. I used that link that you gave me and it’s AOC, I hope her office can help me. I am collecting my document and once I get it all I will definitely do the next steps. You’re lucky that you were able to continue working and get EAD soonest possible time. I’d definitely take your advice on this. Thank you. I will keep you posted.

Hi Sandranj

I have only 5 days left for my interview

I realized my date of birth was wrong on my I485 submitted what can i do in this case? can the Officer accept me to make a correction at the moment of Interview?

I am so worried,

Please advice me this my last step.

Thank you all

Don't worry you can tell the officer you made a mistake when typing your date of birth, make sure you are taking with you a copy of your birth certificate and respective translation.

How long is renewal taking from Vawa office? I'm getting ready to send my EAD renewal. I hope it doesn't take more than 6 months.
