Am still married to my US citizen wife but we are not living together. She’s been very abusive and if I file a restraining order against her, will she be aware that I filed a restraining order because am about to file for vawa. Will the court let her know cause am scared of what she might do. She has our house keys and am always at work and am scared of her slipping into my house and maybe taking some documents from my house

May the Almighty God protect you and stable her from the unwanted acts and behaviours. What I suggest is about the restrain it is as Stillwinning!!! advised you. She will be notified but about the VAWA it is the most protected case but you need to take majors to protect your documents. If you use an attorney keep it there for the time being. That's what i do. I don't feel secured regarding my documents and told him to keep my copies with him. I go there if I need anything. btw why are you not changing your keys?!

So I just checked today with my attorney and they said they changed my address online. Im going to the office next week to send a letter to Vermont to change it. I was approved in october 2018 and live in NYC I just hope I haven’t missed any mail. It’s frustrating. Is there any way to find out if the interview was scheduled besides the online case status?

@FridayGirl@69 yeah Cheer up. Let me share what I am going through if it helps. It has been 2 and half years since I saw my lovely kids, my ex husband took them back home. His plan was to bring them back to US when I went there. He wants to make sure how I loose my kids until they are 18 because all of them are a US citizen. He digs every way to hurt me physically, mentally, financially, socially. . .bribed my employees back home to put me on a tax fraud (God canceled it miraculously). . . Name it. On top of everything  I don't have a work permit. I said I'm unemployed until now. We have been married for 7 years never filled a  single form. Now I'm like what now devil? bring it and I'll pass it on Jesus. I still  keep my hopes high. Everything is under the control of the Almighty God. Btw don't get me wrong I love my kids. I know I'm a super mom. . .But I believe and seeing that God is their father and protector. Now, I sleep like a baby, I swear. My families & friends wants to spend time with me because they feel my inner peace. It is all by the grace of God. Stay positive, worry less, give every worry and burden to Jesus and wait, thats what I360 teaches:whistle: patience, prayer and the answer is on the way:dance: Gory to Jesus!

Hey no need to beat yourself up now..send the letter first thing next week..You have an attorney I assume all your letters go to him/her? You mentioned you were approved Oct of 2018..when did your file hit the local office following Vawa approval? I live in NYC too and would like to have an idea of the impending wait time that awaits me..I pray everything works out great for you.

@Stillwinning!!!😊 Amen and I know you do pray for me. That's the gift over all gifts no one can give. Yes we all be laughing and singing in no time but we should enjoy the wait time as well. You are a blessing for me and this forum. as I told you, you are not allowed to leave this group even after naturalisation. This is your service, you are helping and touching lives here. God bless you abundantly!

Thanks for your words. I don’t know when it got to the local office I never received anything after haws approval. The website says about 18 months but I feel like a lot of people get the interview notice around 8

Hi from what I've read on here, and research elsewhere..I think you are encouraged to send in any evidence that can help your case before a decision is reached using the blue slip..or so..that came with the Vawa receipt. Either you do that or wait..but if you do it...chances are that you may save time any additional evidence RFE might steal from you..only if that's the only thing missing! By all means get other opinions..this is just mines!😊

Very correct
