One more question guys. The VAWA was filed through a lawyer and sent through their office. I clicked on the link to request the approval notice. Do I put my address or do I ask them to request the notice for me? 

 

I hope I can get it sent to my house though I doubt it. I want to be done with the lawyers.

As long as you have not terminated their service and instructed USCIS Vermont about it..all correspondence still holds through your lawyer!

They send everything to your lawyers office for security. Since Vawa case are base sensitive, but if your lawyer said to you the receiving a EAD does not mean your Vawa is approved, I believed is best for you to request the notice online and put your lawyers office address since that what Vermont Services center have as secure mailing address.

Actually the reason they send to lawyer isn't necessarily because it's sensitive or for security but because the attorney is the representative on file. Those who filed for themselves get all documents directly.👍

You Know my lawyer told me i cannot put my address since my abuser lived in the same address i guess the information was incorrect.

That is a legal advice. Quite different from the point I am making. You can confirm from the people who filed themselves..they get their docs directly.

I cannot stress enough what you guys have done for my sanity today. You all saved me. I recently started doing keto, going to the gym and taking pride in my health and appearance after binge eating and sinking into deep depression, not getting out of bed...crying...just laying up with garbage in my room. Yes I know how it sounds.

When I was told this today, I felt like I wanted to stuff myself with food to drown the disappointment of feeling like the wait was still not over. I have come a long way since the ordeal with my ex and have made strides academically and view school as my way out. My credit is suffering because I have been paying out of pocket and I was relieved that I could finally get financial aid so I can continue.

Being told that getting the EAD uncer VAWA was not an approval crushed me. I was about to spiral because after almost two years of waiting this would mean that I'm stuck...

It already hurts that I have been away from my family for 5 years and that my life is complicated.

I digress...thank you guys from the bottom of my soul. God or whatever/whoever you believe in bless you all.

A paralegal told me that being approved for a work permit does not mean that VAWA was approved. I sent my docs Sept. '17 and it's been almost two years. 

 

Based on what I was told, VAWA is still pending and getting an EAD under VAWA means nothing (approval) basically?

it means approval. i got a c31 card too two weeks ago but i was lucky to receive my approval letter alongside my ead card.  I have read about people getting their approval noice 3 - 4 weeks after card has been received.

My darling, I will say it louder CONGRATULATIONS!! you can pull out your dancing shoes! Your dark days are over! Believe me most of us..myself included went through some of the ordeals you described but God and his word was my strength!!!! In the end he proved to me that he is the creator of the universe! The earth is the Lord's; and the fullness thereof!!! America included!!!🙏😊
