She denied your pending i485 filed by your abuser right? did you gave her your I360 receipt?? Don't lose hope if your abuser was an USA citizen and your I360 is pending file a new I485, the fights continues.

Yea she says shes gonna deny it ,I gave her all proofs of abuse but she collected everything and listen to all my explanation, was there for like 30 mins trying to explain to her but you know she’s one of the abusers, she even look like an abuser lol ...when she’s sees I had every proof then she now went back to how I entered America ..I sensed hatred there ,she pretended as if she never know how to hold cases till another case is adjudicated ...and I left and said thank you but I tried my best she is not God

They are working on your case, is in the initial review phases.... if everything is ok they might  approve or they will issue an RFE requesting more evidence.

Don’t worry, file another i485 based on your vawa. Sometimes they put on hold and sometimes they don’t

I just filed it last week I just went there with usps receipt

Then she would probably deny only the i485 based on your marriage

Oh i see. Some officer will give you time and a document saying you have certain time to file for i360 and submit the proof to Uscis otherwise your i485 will be denied but other officer don't do it specially when you don't have the   receipt on hand is on every officer discretion to do so.

Sup... I have a pending i485 from my spouse and now am in my vawa process.. I filed vawa September 20th 2018 , and same September I had my i485 interview without my spouse , I took my vawa receipt from USCIS and also a copy of the vawa package that was filed to the i485 interview and explained to the interview officer that I was in an abusive marriage and now I have filed for vawa , I gave him the vawa receipt notice and copy of filed vawa and I told him to pls put my case in abayance /leave my i485 pending and he did left it pending.... advantages of a pending i485 is

1) you can still apply for EAD or renewal of EAD  and get it under C09 category

2)once ur vawa gets approved you would need to pay or reapply for another i485

3) its helps you to get ur green card faster after your vawa gets Approved due to you were previous on queue for interview b4 you went and and the i485 to be on hold or leave it pending by the officer... after vawa approved they just put you back in the queue of your interview for i485 then you go and get your green card.. this is the little I know ...

hi Modu, did you mean "we will NOT need to pay or reapply for another I-485" right?

Can I ask you question please if you don't mind to share with us .

I see your interview was in February and you got update online in March .

1-What the officer told you in the end of your interview about the decision ?

2-Did officer gave you any papers in the end of the interview ?

Thanks and congratulations again .

 in VAWA, Part 13
March 17, 2017 filed 360

August 29, 2018 360 approved

February 26, 2019 AOS interview; online update case under review

March 18 online update card in production

March 22 online update card mailed

March 25 2019 GC Card on hand.

The IO said, ok you will hear from us within 120 days and contact us if there's no update till then. She gave the paper with checked under review. I was a bit sad but got over it soonest, trying to fight the feelings.

Take note that in the course of the interview I was clueless if it was positive or negative. My mind was floating and like crazy, I kept refreshing my email every 5minutes after walking outside the building, hoping that the IO was just busy and forgot to update the approval online. But again, I told myself I deserve a new life.  I was not put into this situation without a purpose. After half an hour of traveling home, I realized I forgot my combo card on her desk.

I thought it was destined to happen so the IO can remember me. Hahahaha. So I went back. Upon walking towards the exit door, I kept telling myself I was approved even before the interview.

After an hour, I received an online update that my case under review same as the paper. I realized I was sad because it didn't go my way. But I kept telling myself I have waited long enough. What's another week, or a month or a couple more.

My fellow members, the power of faith and working towards it can move mountains. You have come this far not only to come this far.

I hope this inspires us to keep moving and look around us to appreciate what we have accomplished and what we have right now. It's just a matter of time. Sooner than expected.

@Milestone2017 you are correct, I almost lost hope and suddenly my case is finally moving to reach the final step, I don’t have my interview set date yet but I finally got the Courtesy Letter so now is matter of weeks before I can know my date.

Thank you for your advise and for sharing your timeline. My deepest Congratulations! 🎉 🇺🇸💫

You're getting one step closer. Meanwhile, look beyond that and plan your life after getting the gc. I am now in the process of paying forward. I still have the jitters and triggers of my past. But that's what makes me more sensitive to those who suffer in silence.
