Finally I see someone from Chicago that went to Interview.

I read 2-3 followers here that went to Interview saying the same, after I think almost 23 weeks or 2 months got the GC so I don’t think you should worry, it will come and remember uscis has up to 180 days to send it to you as I read previously. I am waiting for my Interview Noticed. What was your timeline if you don’t mind me asking? Cheers! All is good!

Hi everyone! I’m from Chicago, VAWA was approved July 2018, and my interview for I-485 is scheduled for May 15th 2019. Wish me luck! I will update my timeline after interview :)

Congratulations! Best wishes for a smooth interview. I am from Chicago, my Vawa got approved on October 2018, do you know if Priory helps? When did you filed if you don’t mind me asking? I am trying to figure how close I am to get my interview set....I got Courtesy Letter on 3/13/2019. Thank you in advanced.

I have a question, I just received a denial update on my I130 after being told they put my I485 onhold for my I360. Have anyone experienced that?

Nothing to worry, my ex- withdrew it too but you are protected now by Vawa, all to needed to  proof you were married at some point.

Yout ex-lawyer and ex-abuser wI’ll get a copy of  the letter stating why it was revoked.

You don’t need to have a copy but you can requested your ex-lawyer if you want. All good!

Okay thank you. I think it got denied because I went to my interview and informed them I filed vawa and the officer agreed to put I485 on hold. I don’t really know I don’t speak to my abuser just waiting for divorce. Thank you guys for all the support as we continue to pray.

Hello,

I’m so glad I found this forum. I’m about to apply for vawa and have some questions. A little background, meet my husband in 2015. 2017 we got married. There was a lot of abuse in our relationship both physical and emotional but I kept telling myself that it would get better. Well things only got worst. We had our interview in April and got a paper saying it was held for review. he attacked me and my daughter after the interview so I left the house and filed for a divorce. I’m staying at my friends house and haven’t seen him since, he hasn’t been served yet with the divorce papers because nobody can find him. Well, 2 days ago I got a denial letter saying that is was denied because my husband withdrew the application. I have my package almost ready for vawa but my appointment for the phycological evaluation is next week and it will take about 15-20 days to be ready. My question is, should I send the package without it just so I don’t get a NTA and don’t have anything pending? Or should I wait to send with the evaluation risking to get a NTA before everything is filled?

I think I saw a post that I can write a letter asking them not to send the NTA, does anyone know about this?

I’ve meet with an attorney but she charges $12K and there is no way I can afford that. The probono from the catholic place had no idea about vawa and was googling it while I was talking to her so I’ll just do it myself.

Thank you!

Wow you waited  over 15 months for an interview. I am in the Dallas area and it's been over 10 months since my approval and I was getting a little anxious. I see I have to be a little more patient. Good luck, God will bring your GC to you soonest. He will perfect that which he has started 🙏

Hi Family,

I have a question regarding i485 field office.

If my state has more than one field office and both have varying wait times, with the farther office having shorter times, can we request NBC to forward our AOS file to that office with shorter wait time and less work load?

@sandranj and anyone with helpful info. Pls advise accordingly. Thanks

Internal transfer decision are made strictly by them, we cannot request I ask my lawyer to do so with my EAD it was sent to NBC not Vermont. And they only did it when they realized i have an pending I360... and i waited months for that, backlog now is overwhelming.

Good morning everyone, does anyone knows if I have to translate my police clearance from my home country? I mean translate it to English even tho it has all the seals and stamps and the apostil serial number?

Thank you in advance.

Yes all foreign documents in another language have to be translated to English for USCIS. The stamp and serial number are validation of the documents translate only the information.
