Foreign police certificates

My fiancee has lived in Nepal and Saudi Arabia in the past.

According to the Visa recoprocity page http://www.travel.st...ocity/index.htm

Saudi Arabia will not issue a police certificate to a foreign national who no longer lives in Saudi Arabia. It also says that police certificatesr from Nepal are "generally" available.

Which gives a list of countries with unobtainable police certificates, countries from which you should not bother trying to acquire them; Nepal and Saudi Arabia are both on the list.

Does anyone have any advice on this? I would like to find something more official than a guide on (website removed by request); where can I find a more 'official' answer?

Saudi Arabia

POLICE CERTIFICATE

Police clearances are available for Saudi citizens and resident third country nationals. Saudi citizens currently residing overseas must return in person to process the police clearance.

Saudi citizens and third country nationals residing in the Kingdom process the police clearances by first obtaining a police clearance request letter from U.S. Embassy Riyadh, U.S. Consulate General Jeddah, or U.S. Consulate General Dhahran. This police clearance request letter, signed by a consular officer, must be attested by the Saudi Ministry of Affairs (current fee is SR30). The applicant must then appear personally with a passport-sized photograph and a national ID or residency permit at the regional Criminal Investigation Department for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting for women is done in a separate room. The police clearance should be available for collection after a week or two.

Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom.

The optimal time to conduct these procedures at the police stations is 10:00 Saturdays-Wednesdays.

Yeah I looked at those as I stated above...

The wording on Nepal is vague though, and that reciprocity page was last updated in 2002. And that ***removed*** forum mentions that Nepal is unobtainable...

My husband had the same problem since he lived in Saudi too. Don't worry. He didn't have to have it. The information Gupt has provided to you is correct. Saudi does not provide certificates to anyone who is not a native of their country. Which embassy are you going through? If it's the same one that I'm going through (Delhi)I can send you a copy of the email they sent me regarding police certificates. I think it will put your mind at ease.
