Hey - my petition is currently sitting it the state dept, waiting to wing its way to Bangkok. I am trying to plan about how long it will take to get an interview scheduled? Is it still about 2 months on average? Has the new Phnom Phen Embassy affected wait times?

I heard 2 months as well. My fiancee asked someone who just went through the process and it was right around 2 months.

sigh we too are waiting for a bkk interview. it's still around the 8 week mark! fingers crossed for a sooner date for all of us.

the embassy has had our packet 3 for a week but i know monday and friday are hols for the consulate so they will be 2 days behind just from next week. :(

sigh we too are waiting for a bkk interview. it's still around the 8 week mark! fingers crossed for a sooner date for all of us.

Whats the deal with the PIN number? I read the website and hasd the impression that you book your own interview date with the PIN number or calling. Still a biut foggy as to whats its all about, tho! Whats the story with that?

The website is usually updated once a week. The interviews are now about 5 weeks from the time you receive the appointment but it is actually around 8 weeks from the time you receive packet 3. I'm waiting for my fiance's interview appointment now.

The PIN is for visas processed by the non-immigrant visa unit, which would be all non-immigrant visas except for the K visas.

The K visas have the same application fee as all other non-immigrant visas - US$100. 3,800 baht? Quite a ripoff since the exchange rate has been below 35 baht/dollar for quite some time now.

Well, it was THB4,000 even not long ago. They just re-pegged it to THB3,800. Of course, we are talking about $8.00 here... its not really that big of a deal, considering the rest of the fees..
