CEAC case update- visa denial

This is in regards to a k1 visa denial. 

I had my visa refused at my interview on Feb 13th, 2019. CEAC updated just a few days after stating "refused" and the last date it was updated (feb 14th I believe). 

I checked the website today just out of interest  and it shows my last case update is March 11th,2019".. almost a month after and this has updated.. 

Is there any reason why that might be? 

Why would my case be updated after a refusal?

Why would my case be updated after a refusal?

It just means someone has opened you file for whatever reason.   Is your case being returned to USCIS?

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

That's what I just find strange. I have submitted my waiver but it has not been entered in the system yet. 

The consulate in Montreal said my petition would remain there and valid for a year, once a waiver is approved.. they will then go ahead and adjust my k1 petition.

 

But after denial, there isn't anything to do with it.. that's why I am a little confused.

Great.  That's much better than sending it back to USCIS to expire.
