Would you buy a used car if it used to be in a rental fleet?

Yes, and have looked at a few of them before. Some do have high miles... a lot of them, but you can usually find one that you are comfortable with. The maintenance contract usually lets you know that they have been taken care of too... remember to ask for that.. and always check carfax.com regardless.

Most of them have great maintenance and upkeep on them but they have high mileage. I would look around but I had a Taurus back in the 90s from a fleet company and we used it for 3 or 4 years before it had an electrical problem that was not able to locate and fix. That was the only problem other than upkeep and alternator that had to be replaced.

depends on the car and the rental fleet agency..but i would consider a car from enterprise or hertz ..avis..some other companies, may not have the same maintenance requirements...

...(.. mazda).

Zoom-Zoom

:P

think the wife wants one. Her continual staring and newspaper clipping of car sales are her subtle yet not overtly obvious hints. ;)

hahahaha... exact same thing here! She wakes up before I do and by the time I'm up she has car clips ready for me to look at.

Enterprise

car- tbd, but i am biased against chevy/dodge. I'd consider a ford but prefer japanese (includes mazda).

got a mazda truck..drove the wheels off of it..Enterprise takes care of their product...located in st louis..

I am looking for something entry/economy... yesterday she spots an audi a4 and tells me she wants it. I'm like that's about 10-15k over budget

Had a VW Diesel Jetta with over 300K miles on it before the 'ometer broke.. and i placed about another 100K on it. It also survived an electrical fire, over-heated engine (3 times), broken window/door frame. Finally developed a short somewhere that would drain the battery over night so i traded it in.. Ford. Prefer the VW reliability.

She's also looking at houses... and placed them $100K over budget (without her working yet that is) :P
