I was just wanting to check to see if what I read was correct when it comes to filling fees as I can't find it now of course when I go back to look.

I read somewhere that if you file your EAD at the same time as your AOS you don't have the pay the filing fee for the EAD..can anyone confirm this for me? Just trying to figure out the total cost of the next stage.

Thank you :)

Filing Forms I-765 and I-131 with Form I-485

If you are filing Form I-485 and pay the required fee (or already filed Form I-485 and paid the required fee on or after July 30, 2007), you do not have to pay an additional fee to also file a Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization and/or Form I-131, Application for Travel Document for advance parole. You may file these forms together.

Yes this is correct. EAD and AP don't cost additional fees when they are filed together with AOS. It is also in the instructions for I765 and I131 (I would always double check in case there was a recent change ;))

Thank you both. I couldn't remember where I had seen it so thank you for the references!

Ok so I may be asking the wrong question now and give myself more work lol but what is AP and why would I need to get it?

AP = Advance Parole

It allows you to seek re-entry to the US if you go abroad while your AOS is pending. If you submit the I-765 and I-131 together your EAD will be an EAD/AP combo card. Combo cards say "SERVES AS I-512 ADVANCE PAROLE":

Regular EADs say "NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO U.S.":

I would advise you to submit the I-131 along with the I-485 and I-765.  It is better to have advance parole, even if you now think you won't need it.  Numerous posters have failed to file the I-131, but regretted it later.  It takes only a few minutes to complete, and it's free if filed with or after AOS.

Thank you both! Would never of thought about it so yes, its a quick form (what's one more at this stage in the game lol) so worth doing for sure if there were any emergencies back with family. Thanks for the advice!!
