Since I couldn't find a Philadelphia field office specific topic, I figured I create one and give it a shot!

Filed AOS in September 2018, have been ready for interview since October 2018, so we still have a good wait in front of us!

Any Philly filers that filed in 2017/2018, please chime in so we can get an idea of the processing times (besides the processing times chart on VJ) and for some Philly support.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Hello,

We are also filers from Philadelphia. Yesterday EAD status finally turned to "Card was mailed to me",so this and advance parole is coming it mail anytime soon. As for Green Card - "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview" since November,13.

It would be nice to know some latest cases that were scheduled for interview, wonder how long they waited.

Hopefully it take an year and not longer...

This wait times are just too long.

Surprisingly Baltimore/Washington DC is quicker than us as I saw in one forum many October filler have got the interview date.

Thank you! Your EAD arrived much earlier than ours. We finally just today received EAD with endorsement for advance parole. Filed everything on 09/26/18,but we were unlucky to get RFE for everything, but still it took so long...Gosh..till now 04/19/19. We had our status "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview" for a very long time though, since last year (this status changed pretty quickly once they got response for RFE on I-485, so maybe it is a good thing, because I saw a lot of people who's status is something like "Fingerprint review was complete" for a very very long time...

Hello, yes they are much quicker on that...and if you also compare Baltimore and DC to Philadelphia - they are 3 times smaller in population. We know somebody from Tulsa (Oklahoma) for instance, a couple got their interview faster than I heard anybody would get it.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know I had my green card interview today (morning) in Philadelphia (filed September 12th 2018).

It was pretty quick, maybe 20-30 minutes. The officer was pretty stern, but he has to be. He was nice tho. He asked my husband a few questions (how did you meet, what are her parents name, where do they live etc) and then went over the yes/no questions with me. After that he asked me if I had any new documentation I wanted to add to the file, so I gave him all the shared bills, cc's etc.

Afterwards he told us he usually makes a decision in 4-6 weeks, so I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a recommendation for approval or anything and we did not know if everything was in place. He also explained what happens when your case get's approved, denied or RFE'd.

When I checked the case tracker at the end of today the status changed to 'new card is being produced' 😊

Also, for everyone who is worried about the medical. My medical expired in April this year, but I filed within 1 year after medical. The officer did not even ask for it, nor did he ask for any of my husbands documents (birth certificate, passport) He just asked for our DL's.

I did print the page from the I-693 instructions where it says you don't need a new medical if you filed within 1 year, just in case, and of course I brought all my husbands documents.

Thank you!

Just take all the documents you need and you'll be fine :) I was a little intimidated by the officer because he told me to not move the chair and told me not to nod when my husband answered questions (I understand, they need to make sure you're not signaling). It's their job to act like this to pick out the rotten apples. In the end he got more relaxed.
