We are also planning on going to Korea together as a family and living there. I’m getting my TEFL currently I believe if we are married he may be eligible for an E2 at that point but I’m not sure? I think it’s probably best I start a new thread for that question but this isn’t my main plan...

An E2 is a Visa for an investor in a business in the US. I don't think that's what you mean.

If you are looking to immigrate to Korea I'm not sure many of us can help you since this is about US based immigration. But keep in mind if you choose to pursue a US based Visa then move to Korea your US based Visa will be null/void as you will need to be here at least 6 months a year so no point if you are not staying

I am prob biased due to an unsuccessful K1 but I feel CR1 is the way to go for a variety of reasons.

We have a Facebook group called Moroccan  visa journey specifically for those of us who have gone through Morocco if you want more specific people to discuss with.

I have been trying to post things here and just am having a difficult time I will check it out thank you. Do you need to add me or should I search for it?

Lawyers are a waste of money and have no bearing in consulates final decision, they have no impact other than filing which she can do on her own with the help of VJ and people from our consulate.

You can over come any obstacle really with patience and time.

Main thing is visits. Proposals and/or weddings on first visits usually are typical red flags, so again something to overcome. More in person visits is main thing you need to overcome these things.

As for lawyers, they just cost money. They don't have any power over an embassy so it's just like throwing money down the toilet honestly.

You may see it that way, but I sure don't!! I paid for an attorney because it gave me something that I think we all need in a time like this... peace of mind. Are there attorneys out there that couldn't care less about you, of course! Could I have done the paperwork myself, yes! It was my choice and I stand by it. You may think it a waste and a money suck and you are entitled to your opinion... as am I.

First of all you can cool down a bit with your (!) and tone, I was talking to her and no one said that you were wrong in hiring an attorney. What I was referring to was that an attorney has no impact on a final decision and that peace of mind that you are referring to is non existent really because they have no impact on rfes, decisions, nothing. If you chose that and it gave you peace of mind and it worked for you , great, but I STANDY BY MY opinion.

The thing about attorneys is that they are only really able to help with the initial paperwork. Casablanca is a difficult and has some rather specific requirements that many attorneys or visa services are unaware of. She will likely get better and more personalized help from either this forum or the Moroccan Visa Journey Facebook group that has already been mentioned.

With that said, despite our personal K-1 journey through Morocco having been successful, I always advise everyone else to go the CR1 route, as it more likely to be approved at the consular level and is just the better and cheaper visa overall.

If you are going through the visa process and will be interviewing in Casablanca, Morocco, join us over at the

US-Morocco Visa Discussion Facebook Group! :)

I knew somebody who taught EFL in Korea and I very much got the impression it was a single person type job, nothing he said suggested it would support a family.

I assume E2 is a Korean visa?

If you are looking short term then you moving is the way to go, otherwise as people have said, take your time, somebody you just met and that is not going to fly with the Consulate.

Yes, an E-2 visa is a Korean visa to teach English there. Two of the requirements are being a native born speaker from an English-speaking country and having a university diploma from one. Obviously the OP's partner would not qualify for one. That being said, I do think there is a spousal visa connected to an E-2.

I did it nearly 20 years ago, but at the time, it wouldn't have been a problem supporting a spouse, but it might have been a challenge with a child (primarily due to the housing situation).

This guy came back about a year ago, now I am sure it varies but I have never been to Korea and we had long conversations about his time over there. Sounded pretty basic and he certainly did not come back with savings.

upon My reasearch if you teach abroad in Korea they provide visa to your spouse and child to stay with you.  I believe it was called E2 but it maybe called something else.

So I’m not sure if I’m being clear. He is planning to go to Korea to work and I am going to be with him and in order for me to stay there I would need an E2 visa or some sort of visa I found the teaching abroad would provide that. I guess it was an extra perk knowing that they provide these as to your children and spouse after looking  into it more. It’s not the first priority just something to do in the in between time so we can be together and still be working while we wait for the immigration in the US to be processed. Would it pose any type of problem for me to do that do you think? Teaching for a year abroad in Korea and  and still be able to process the CR-1?

E2 is a whole other beast and technically a non-immigrant visa. That's the extent of my knowledge on E2, but if you're looking to bring you man over to live permanently with you in the US, he needs to fully immigrate. E2 is probably a band-aid solution in your case, not an actual viable solution that's fully applicable to your circumstances. Morocco embassy is notoriously harsh when it comes to K1 visas. Just from what I've read here, I'd say more visits and a CR1 are your best bet.

I think moving to Korea would really help your case, and being legally resident you can interview there, with over a year of marriage would make things look much better.
