I had my medical today and I brought a letter from my Dr outlining my history of depression and the treatment I received as well as a statement that I have not required any services in over 6 years. I have quite a number of scars all over my arm from a history of self harm and there was no way they wouldn’t notice so the best option is to be open and honest. Explain the history and the help you received and emphasise that you are well now, and for how long. The doctor even asked what a small bruise on my arm was from (sport) so they WILL ask you, but it’s best not to be defensive or secretive as that may look bad, be open with them.

I came out of the Medical with no issues and no mention of a psychological assessment.

I also mentioned the fact that my fiancée  is aware of my history and we talk about things together, which also looks good for your application.

May I ask what is the result of your medical exam? I also have scars like this, will this count?

Like what every one has opine, that will not be a problem if you are honest with the medical examiner. You many be delayed because you may need to see a Psychologist for an evaluation. If you are well beyond this stage of self harm then I see no problems.

You have not completed your profile so I don't know what embassy can you do a little housekeeping and and the below information.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

My scar is exactly on the wrist. The doctor didn't ask about it but i'm sure she saw it.

Tip: Let the doctor ask you about it. Don't tell him about it unless he ask.
