It genuinely is and it's such a relaxing process at the embassy once you're in so it's really not too bad.

She's from Michigan and yours?

Hey, me again!!

Do you know if the DS160 has to be in colour or is black and white ok?

Thank you

I wouldn't like to say 100% but I saw many people with black & white ones in the queues outside. I believe the barcode is the important part but hopefully someone else can confirm for certain

Seriously, why would color matter? They just want the reference number to pull it up on the computer in case they can't find it.  There are FAQs which explain if you need to make a major correction to a previously submitted visa application (DS-160 or DS-260) you do it all over from scratch and submit a new one. Then make sure you provide the most recent confirmation on interview day so they use the correct application.

In all fairness, I printed everything out at home apart from Courtney's employment letter and the DS-160 as I used the colour printer at work haha.  I don't even know why, but yeah :P

Luke, I’m absolutely delighted for you and Courtney...I’m praying everything will be as smooth for us! You hear a lot of negative stories, so loving your positive one 🙌🏻.

Now the countdown begins, 1st May is the first big day, right (well, last big day depending on how you look at it!)?

1st of May is when I leave work, 11th is the moving day :P We're still throwing wedding dates around but it's almos there. Let's keep our fingers crossed for you and Herschell (spelling sorry!)

Ahh I hope I get mine back that quick :)

I hope you do too, I found the pickup location to be strange, just a door in the middle of an industrial estate in Grimsby area, but I got it. Unfortunately I didn't get the electronic filing, I have a huge envelope that's not to be opened until I cross into the USA.

That’s what I mean - first big day (cause it’s the final day at work) but also last big day (cause it’s your last day there!) 😆.

You’re thinking of Vegas for the wedding, right?

I am having mine delivered to my house as the cost to leave the island to go collect was the same price as the courier so figured might as well wait in for it!

Of course now the CEAC is not working properly due to maintenance so hopefully they get back online soon so I can track progress!!

The delivery vs pickup time is usually the same. Typically you get an email which will have pickup next day or receive delivery next day. A few remote locations may not have one day service, but most are.

Oh absolutely, I can't wait for my last day! 6.5 years and I've finally escaped!!

We're looking at Vegas yes, there's a place that does a little outdoor rooftop terrace gazebo one and we're looking at that. It turns out the reasoninig behind is because of the women in Gilmore Girls (?) got married outside at a gazebo....go figure haha.

It's going to make such a minimal difference, when I could collect was the 15th yet delivery was the 18th (due to a weekend). I just couldn't confirm where I would be with Courtney's trip upcoming so I opted to pick it up instead of deliveries failing.

As usual, Wuozopo providing all the information before I read all my notifications....I'm just going to put "What Wuozopo said" on paste and that can be my response 99% of the time 😉

Ha! Tell me about it - I actually have my notice handed in already (8th November), however, if I need to move the date back I can - we just needed to put in an end date so I could circumvent some rules around a side project I’m doing (and how long you’re allowed to spend on them - my boss is a gem) ...but I’ve worked there for 12 years...I’ve literally grown up at that company, started there straight after uni...it’s going to be weird being released back into the wild 😆😆😆.

Vegas is very fun - and you’ll be going in summer, when it’s just non-stop pool parties during the day 🤪
