My husband is a US citisen and Iam still greencard pending.We'd like to invite my mom from Russia

What process is involved in getting a visa to visit the United States from Russia and how long does it take and what's the cost?

She will need to get a regular tourist visa to come here. A letter of invitation and AOS might help her get it but it's not guarranteed.

It all depends on how much you are willing to pay. The more you pay the less risk there is. By your name I am assuming you are Russian or Ukrainian. I was in a similar situation. We made sure my mom received the guest visa (that is the only way to do it if you are not a US citizen yet). Just make sure you collect as much relevant paperwork as you can. If you mom is married or has other children in her home country, it increases her chances to get a visa dramatically.

My mother was a refused a visa once and we could not risk it anymore. We used one of the agencies in Moscow who know what paperwork is needed and guarantee the visa. They charge a pretty fee but they do not get any money if they do not deliver. The guy even told my mom what kind of visa she was going to get. She got a multiple-entry visa the very first time. She was not married and had no other children in the home country, as a matter of fact the rest of our family were already in the US. The interview at the Embassy went very smoothly, she was not asked any questions except to confirm the address in the US.
