Wow I think you can request NVC to schedule them together, can’t you?

We've tried but until now there's no update. I think they'll really have separate interview dates. My brother's friend (parents) has different interview date 6 months apart.

The ones whose applications ended up in Nebraska are the unluckiest ones. It is not taking less than 12 months for Nebraska, while other service centers are taking as less as 4 months. It is such a shame there is no equality.

Our parents' applications just got approved after 12 months from NSC. In 2016 it used to take 4 months for NSC but since the new administration took place, it has been taking forever!

That sounds like a service center situation and not an administration problem. If it were the latter, then all service centers would have the same approval time. Maybe the service centers that had a long approval time is now on a rotation, and to be fair, NSC is now in the long waiting queue. It could also mean that more petitions are being sent to NSC as they had the fastest approval time and it has slowed down the process.

It’s hard when we are the ones waiting. I would be anxious too. I was anxious during the process as I got RFEs; however, it took 4 months for my mom to be approved - her priority date was April 3, 2019. I petitioned for her after 3 months of her being in the USA - we can do that.  She was approved in New York without an interview. However, a friend of mine who also lives in New York petitioned  for her mom in November 2016 and it took exactly 2 years before she was approved. It’s the same state and service center but look at the difference in the timeline.

Truth is, we don’t know of a fact the reason for the delays; it just sucks when we are waiting. I hope something works out so that whatever delays they are experiencing will be brought up to date and they will be able to move the process along so that your parent can get here soon.  All the best.

Wow your mother got lucky. Didn't even know a parent could be granted a green card without an interview. We could do the same thing for our mother since she had 5-years B2 visa but we wanted for both the parents to come together (father was denied tourist visa and we had to apply immigrant petition for them, otherwise tourist visas would've been sufficient for them.) So they are both waiting overseas for the last 1 year and hopefully the NVC process will be faster.  Thanks.

HI all. We filed for our father's petition way back in late March too, to the Nebraska service center. We got an NOA in early April saying it had been received but since then its been dead as a rock. We were expecting to have gotten additional movement by now, but I guess not. Good luck to all!

Will your parent's interview be scheduled on different dates? Have you inquired if they can interview on the same day? The reason i ask is because i am in the same boat. Mother's interview got scheduled, waiting for dad's interview.

Hi were you guys able to get NVC to schedule interview dates together for your parents? If not how long apart they scheduled the interviews? I received my mom's interview letter but waiting for dad.
