Hey,

Thank you so much for sharing this story. You are truly a life saver.

I am literally in the same case. My husband and I have been together for almost 4 years, and we have been married and staying together for almost 2 years until I recently got a job that requires me to relocate. We will be filing I-751 next year, and wondering what documents will need to prepare. We have lots of anxiety thinking about our future, and your post really helps us out. However, if possible, can I have your private contact (email, phone, etc..) for further communication?

Sorry, interview for I-485 and exempt for I-751*

There is no automatic exemption to the I-751 interview. It's at the Immigration Officer's discretion to waive the interview or not. This is the policy for cases filed on or after December 10, 2018: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Laws/Memoranda/2018/2018-11-30-PM-602-0168-revised-interview-waiver-guidance-for-form-I-751.pdf

@accumbyte, thanks for sharing! I think rfesuccess's case is a really good example for the new policy.

@rfesuccess, sorry if I am being too nosy but what were the reasons that you have to relocate if you don't mind to share? My husband and I are apart because of financial issues..

I am not going to share personal information here or in private. Sorry about that and good luck.

Update: from Card in Production -> Card Mailed to Me takes 3 business days.

Timeline update:

Day 1: Card in production

Day 4: Card mailed

Day 5: Card picked up by USPS

Day 6 - 8: Arrival (takes anywhere between 1 -3 days after card pick up)

So overall, ~ a week after approval notice, you will receive your card. Tracked multiple applications and all follow this timeline.
