For the depression stuff you’ll need a note from the GP saying he’s not a threat to himself or others my husbands GP couldn’t be bothered to do that either and referred him to a psychiatridt to get it done . £400 later he got a really detailed not from the psychiatrist that Knightsbridge were really pleased with so it was worth it. I can PM you the phychistrists info if you wanna suggest that to you GP is the GP won’t do it. The psychiatrist was in Bournemouth

Wow.. so you have pay 400 plus the medical as well?

Yes that is what I thought too. He'll obviously keep trying but I just wanted to know if there was a different way to go about it. Thank you very much!

If he is saying medical RECORDS to them like you did in your post, then maybe they are anticipating some complicated thing of copying all his records.  Tell him to say "print out of medical SUMMARY."

We had to pay £400 to see the special psychiatrist because his GP would not write him the note and you definitely need the note for the medical with a history of depression. Go to your GP first for the note but if they are meh like my husbands was about getting anything done then I’d seek a referral. It was definitely not fun to have to pay the extra but worth it because the Knightsbridge doctors needed the note and were very satisfied with the one we provided them.

Hello,

My fiance from the UK is getting everything he needs for the interview and all he has left is to get his medical records. I heard these could be a pain to get and so far, we have had no luck and keep getting the run around. When he called the doctors, they told him that the two companies were merging so it could be a couple of weeks but he needs to have a written letter requesting them and bring it in in person to show ID. So he does that and when he gets there, they tell him that he has to write an email. So he goes home and writes them an email but the email is bad and won't go through. He has called them twice this morning, they put him on hold and then it disconnects the call. So I guess my question is, if anyone from the UK has recently obtained their medical records for the k1, how did they do it? Thank you!

Calling is always difficult, receptionists lately are more like gatekeepers of the doctors surgeries.

I just walked in and they printed me a patient summary record out, or will allow you to register online for online records.

Or the other option, lie to receptionist and get an appointment and speak to his doctor and inform them exactly what he needs and why, including a writeup regarding depression history.

I never like saying it but sometimes receptionists do make it exceedingly difficult for the simplest of things!!

I rang my GP on Monday and the receptionist printed everything off whilst I was on the phone to her.

Tell your partner to call in and speak to them face to face if they are being unhelpful over the phone, people are more likely to help when you’re stood in front of them.

Getting the patient summary and vaccination records shouldn’t be as difficult as they are making it for him.

He actually just left the office. He filled out all the paperwork to register but they told him they're backed up because they're merging two companies and it will be next week before he gets in the system. So hopefully, next week he'll be registered and schedule an appointment. But they wouldn't give him his summary until he's actually registered. So still the run around again.

That’s annoying but at least he’s now getting put into the system and should have everything together before his medical exam.

so true ! especially my doctors, they are really unhelpful with this stuff. I called and wrote a letter for summary record and have heard nothing back apart from when i called they told me they will do it and heard nothing since. This is almost 2 weeks ago now, I would happily do it myself online but my GP doesnt allow access to that information no matter what you do. Hate being in this limbo of wondering if theyre actually processing it but its taking time or if they have just forgot.

It's ridiculous isn't it. I got the online thing but because I think my GP Prefers using a stone tablet to write notes it was pretty vague to say the lease!

the only thing i can currently access is a patient summary which lists

Allergies and Sensitivities

Acute Medication (issued in the last 12 months)

Current Repeat Medication
Past Repeat Medication (discontinued in the last 6 months)

If push comes to shove ill just have to print this out and hope its enough. I dont know what else I can do at this point.

My fiance was just told it could take up to six weeks to get his summary. I told him to just keep going back in since he keeps getting told different things and seeing as some people have just walked in a got it right on the spot, he might get lucky one day and they'll just give it to him 😂

Yeah, i might have to start harassing them, at the risk of them taking even longer, it does just feel like they cant be arsed, is it really any more difficult then verifying youre the person requesting the info, then opening up your file and printing it out, surely can take no longer than 2-3 mins.
