Hi guys. I had interview 13th Jan and the CO asked me some questions and he had that yellow form ready even before I start the interview with him and had signed beside CO-Sponcer and after the interview he told me that I need co- sponser or your wife 2018 tax when you have it ready send it to me by Aramex. And he was going to keep my passport then he said you know what keep your passport with you tell you have everything ready and send it to me with the needed documents. so on 14th of FEB, I sent the needed documents and by Aramex and by end of the week  the embassy send me all the documents and my passport and asked me to scan the documents on the system. So I did. How long it could take them to review the documents? Also is it not good sign to give me the passport back which he was going to keep it but hechanged his mind because he doesn’t know how long it will take me to send him the needed documents?

Nobody can answer that question. It may take a few days, it may take a few weeks. That is the problem with administrative processing; there is no definite time frame. Anybody giving you a time it will take is only guessing.

Usually it is a good sign for the officer to keep the passport but who knows what he was thinking. True, a safe practice is for them to return the passport because the length of time is unknown. But that does not necessarily mean that it is going to take a long time.

For the meantime, best to practice patience. After say 45 - 60 days, if nothing still hasn't transpired, start inquiring.

my husband was stuck in AP for 48 for no reason, just white 221G and the AP box was marked, they did not keep his passport either, around day 54 they called him to send his passport back via Aramax he did and 2 days later got it back with visa.

Egypt it known for its backwards behaviour, but its another 60-90 days after you submit papers for review in AP.

Good luck in your journey.

why were they asking for 2018 tax returns, the deadline has not come yet? my husband's interview is next week and my 2018 taxes havent been filed yet. was your situation different? or is this a thing? my co-sponsor's 2018 is ready and filed and i submitted them.

If you can fill it out and give it to him before he can go to the interview will be good. Because they may ask for it as update for your info.close any way for them that  they can play around with you around . good luck.
