Annoucement: New Mod's

Congratulations to the new mods.

Where can I find the definitions and/or duties and responsibilities of the Scout, Organizer, and Moderator? I've done a search and looked in the FAQ's and TOS but have come up empty. Thanks.

well, the organizers have been around for about a year, Ewok sent a PM to all the people he considered to become an organizer... we had the choice to turn down this job if we wanted to.... just recently the titles were added...

I think Ewok just picked people he thought would do a good job.....

a year? really? Why does it feel like all this just started recently?

I beleive ya, Marilyn, just feels like all this stuff became visible recently, maybe that's the key.

yeah the organizers have been around for about a year... then some new organizers were added a few months ago and the title was made visible and a new category of people called scouts was added too and now Ewok added some new moderators...

I want to take a brief moment to announce that lal_brandow, Yodrak, and Mags have been set up as new moderators in the forums. They were previously Scout Members and have proved their ability to be level headed and fair. As members of the board they can often see events on the forums that might violate the TOS that I can not see as easily (they are in the trenches more, so to speak). If required, they are now able to take disciplinary action such as locking threads, suspensions, etc (they will use this Guide here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=322 as a reference). While this is hopefully something that will not happen often, sometimes things do get out of hand and it is good to have people there to soften the blow and fix things up sooner than later (in the past if I was offline and things happened there could be delays before I could address things).

Please know that even though they are moderators they are still the same friends we all know however just with a few extra tools at their disposal to help out with . They will not have access to anything protected in the privacy policy (IP address, server logs, etc). If you are concerned with something you may PM them or me directly. There will be no power trips or anything like that. This should only be a good thing for the site!

Congradulations to All!!! This is a great site for anyone traveling this path less traveled. I recently changed my Avatar to be more representative of how anyone can feel working to bring their family together from all corners of the earth. One comment on the site..... It would be much easier to navigate if there was a resource tab. Here many of the shortcuts being used could be easily found and updated as the law and rules change. Happy to be here!!

That's all you can judge by, really.

Some boards can handle new mods; in some instances they tear the board apart. I've seen it happen. I don't think it'll happen here.
