DR Process

Hi everyone! I am probably the 900th person to ask this question, but I am looking for the most current information available regarding the process for a K1 visa in the DR after receiving the NOA2. I know we wait for the packet to go to the NVC and then the Consulate. I have already filled out the DS160 as much as I can at this point.

I called the Embassy this morning in an attempt to clarify, but I find myself even more confused at this point.

As as far as scheduling our interview appointment do I do it online or do I wait for them to schedule the appointment? There is so much conflicting information out there!! I want to

be as proactive as possible.

Also, has anyone picked up their passport/visa at the VAC (post interview) rather than having it mailed or sent to Mailboxes Etc?

Packet Sent 10/18

Delivered to Lockbox 10/21

Fee Paid 10/25

NOA1 10/25

After you get the approval, you have to call nvc to get your case number, wait a least to week after your approval to call them to get your case number. Them you have to check your case status at nvc, first it gonna say In transit and them it gonna say ready, when is ready them you can start with the ds-160 and do the interview appt and the medical appt. Do it online because if you wait the embassy to make the appt for you i lost some much time .

1- wait toe weeks to call Nvc , ask for ase numver. ( nvc in one month theey will send you a letter with case number, but if you want it before of that call after tow weeks).

2- once you have case number, check status on ceac check visa status, once say case ready, then fill out ds-16].

3- once fill out ds-160, ho to ustraveldocs.do and create a profil for your fiance, and pay your appoinment.

If you pay with credit card you can schedule your appoinments sane day of payment.

If your fiance go to pay to banco popular then need wait w4 hours for schedule interview.

4- on ustravel you choice two appinments: one for fingersprint and oyher for consulate.

He need do nedical exam 3 weeks before intwrview, so you can schedule fingersprint the same day of medical exam.

For medical exam dont need schedule appoinnent.

Just walk in for medical examination.
