Now I finally understand why hubby was only able to get an interview in June and not May as we expected. According to this statement on the New Delhi Embassy Website there has been a dramatic increase in the number of "unqualified visa applicants" which has created fewer visa appointments in both New Delhi and Mumbai. Just a heads up for all of us going about this the right way.

Also I guess this would explain the increased number of 221g's we're seeing issued too. The link to the brief statement about the problem is above

Interesting remarks. The amount of Indian citizens that are "promised" visas to the US is alarming. Most of them lose their entire savings trying to get here.

I don't envy the job of those consulars.

Wow, and awful. It does explain why so many are getting the dreaded 221g.
