I just got off the phone with NVC the person told me that I need to send them my wife's Original birth cert and our original Marriage cert and also DS230 part II. I was under impression that all of this would be taken to the embassy at the time of the interview. Was I wrong? or is this something new? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Mobby

It is new . . . info should be available on your consulate's website and on the NVC website

Mobby,

Things have changed at the NVC level. What you need to do is go here http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html choose your embassy and see what documents they need you to send to the NVC. It will also tell you that all papers need to be original or certified originals.

Thanks Guys.. The thing that pissed me off is that we have a lawyer and she didn't know either. I happen to call NVC and find out. Now this thing will set us back don't know how long. I told my wife to DHL the stuff right away. Hopefully it wont get lost in transit then we are really SOL.  sometimes I wonder if it will be in this life time that I see her here.. oh well

have a nice memorial weekend.

Cheers

Mobby

I can only imagine how you feel. We got the infor from another VJ member who happened to call the NVC to find out what he needed. Good thing he got the info with plenty of time to get all the documents. That also gave us a heads up to tell our spouses to get this stuff before we have to send it to the NVC.

Don't forget that any document that you have to send to them has to be translated as well if it's not in English.

Have a great weekend too!
