Have you tried calling the Department of State? They're very helpful and friendly. Number is (202) 663 1225. Make sure you have the case number to hand. I called them regularly and was able to track what was happening when our Packet 4 seemed to be delayed.

Def call the embassy line provided above. Sometimes you might be in the system with a date and not even know it yet. And others have received the "Deleted" reply and still received an actual reply - so that might be a red herring.

(note to self, must not give gentle ribbing to "waylayed" at every step comment. must remember all separation is bad separation. know that is true. must not be jealous of vermonters . . . must. . . . not . . . . ;) )

Think about what time of year it is...I will bet you that the embassy in London is being swamped with student visa applications, since it's the perfect time of year for it...and since they have to be processed quickly, they'll jump the queue in front of you.

Elizabeth-

It's 6PM in London, I'm sure they've gone home already.

I noticed your timeline is very similar to mine, I met my hubby while in grad school in London (7/04) & had to leave Oct 05. It's worth the wait, I promise! ;)

I'm going to try calling the DOS. I'm too cheap to call the embassy.

On the American in London note, Devilette, I remain livid at the UK, as my grad school now grants foreign grads a special work visa valid for a year past graduation.

I'm confused? You could stay now, but not then? I didn't have that option (art post grad degree).
