Thank you for the info but I’m not yet cleared, the q. Ask about 5 years and I’m only here for 3 years , what should I answers ? Should I consider 5 as 3?

When filing under the three year option, you can assume that any question that asks for five year timelines should be regarded as a three year timeline. In other words, replace five for three. (Thats what I found after searching through many different channels) They are basically asking for all of the days outside of the US since you legally became a permanent resident of the US OR the last 5 years. You are applying under the 3 year qualification but the form is written as if the applicant is filing under a 5 year qualification. Rather than produce a separate form, they use the same form for both qualifications. Do not include any time prior to your receipt of  green card - the application only applies to the time since you have become a permanent resident. For your satisfaction; I would suggest you to ask or Google from some authentic source, I am Newbie and don't have a detailed knowledge.

You should have no problems at all since all of your documentation supported the 3 year qualification. Good luck  .

Hi, July filer just browsing other threads.

If you haven't legally changed your name, then your name is still the same (long one). No one can take your name away lol. I also have two names + two last names and they are spelled out in my SSN and driver's license. However, middle name is abbreviated in the green card (A.). I think the "del" just throws them off. In my case I always get mail addressed to first name+second last name because they think my first last name is my middle name. It's dumb but since I haven't changed my name I just ignore that. My name is right in the appropriate legal documents. You can update your SS card and driver's license to show your name correctly, if you want but I don't think it's an issue. Abbreviations are standard.

Thanks for the reply, and all others who did too. My middle name is not on my SS card, driver's license, or permanent residency card, but I did find it on some correspondence from USCIS. That makes me feel better. It probably is just abbreviated cause my name is so long lol.

Hi all,

Hope you can help. I checked my case on uscis.egov a while ago and the update date changed to 05/04/2020 which is last Monday but there's actually no new update. It is the same as it has been for months now which "Fingerprints have been applied to your case..."

Does the update mean my case has been touched..?

Thank you

I saw some people have an update on May 3-4 saying their case has been transferred to the local office. It's probably nothing because they were transferring some cases and local office keeping some.

I just did some research and turns out there are two types of updates; Hard and soft ones. Mine is soft. It does not involve any change in status. It bears saying that I sent ROC package on September 9, 2019. so I'm not expecting any kind of progress on my case.

Does anyone have a working link to register for USCIS case tracking system? The one in that article doesn’t work anymore :(
