How do we get the extension letter? I thought we have to go get a stamp in my wife's passport, but unsure of the procedure for that.

USCIS will send you in the mail, according recently feedback, they give out 18 month extension

If your green card is almost expire and you need to travel, then you go get the stamp (however, I read some posts, people said sometimes they will take your green card, and sometime the extension is just one year (so far I saw one post said)

what I observed recently...hope it helps

Yes, very helpful. thank you.

Getting into the home stretch here, almost done but I have some questions about the i-751.

In Part 7, in the Acknowledgement of Appointment sections, there's a box to fill in the name for each of those sections, but the field is not fillable in the preview app. Do we just write in the name there? My guess is yes, fill in the appropriate name in each of those sections.

Also in part 7, we've included home and cell numbers and email addresses. Does this mean we don't need to include forms G-1145 for e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance? Or should I also include it? If I should include it, can I do 2 of them, one for each of us? Those of you just receiving the texts, did you include a G-1145 with your packet?

Thank you in advance!

1. in part 7 the name in "Acknowledgement of Appointment at USCIS Application Support Center" should be pop up by itself if you fill in you name in Part 1 question 1, but sometime people didn't have middle name so it won't pop out itself, you can print it out and hand writing with black pen

2. that's not relevant. If you want to receive text or email, you should file G-1145 with you application. It's no harm to include G-1145 in each of them, in case USCIS lost them, ha

that's the information I know so far!

Hi,

I hope that everyone's process preparing and sending package goes well. I just received my 18months extension letter today, exactly 8 days after we sent my package.

Next coming thing should be the appointment for fingerprints but after reading some other posts, I believe that I will not be required to do it again.

Have a good weekend and good luck, we are the best 😎

Good morning folks!

I just received a text message from USCIS that my case was received with a receipt #WAC........... saying that I should receive my I-797 by mail soon.

I tried to add this receipt # on my USCIS online account with no success since an error message is showing up.

It might take some time but the good thing is that they received the package and cashed the money.

You have to go my uscis and create a new account in order to be able to check your receipt number https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Same here. Just received the text and I cannot check the status online yet. I am guessing it takes a while. Interestingly my bank account doesn't show the check has been cashed, but I am assuming if it wasn't I wouldn't had received the text with my case number. This is quite a relief and I intend to forget as much as possible about my case (except for making sure I carry the extension letter, going to biometrics, and looking out for RFEs), until I file N-400 next year. This was very stressful but it is nice to think that it could be the last time I have to submit so much evidence for an application!

Hi everyone! Thanks for this thread. We mailed our package in one week ago, and they just cashed our check yesterday. Eagerly awaiting our extension letter so that we can take that to the DMV and get my husband a new drivers license with a bit longer validity.

5/16/16- After a few days saying administrative processing, CEAC now says issued!

Additional snafu: my fiancé came over on his visa, but just a month later (and the day before we were going to get married) he had an emergency that necessitated him returning to China.  I contacted the Guangzhou consulate via their email system, provided the requested documents/proof, and he was granted a second interview for "reissuance."  He had to re-do the medical, redo the interview (bringing yet another copy of all of the things he had to bring the first time) and we were approved again!  He received what looked like a new visa in his passport, but the original 90 day countdown for marriage was still ticking.  He came back to the US and we got married right away!
