hello all,,

I am a newbie in this section. currently my wife (mumbai embassay) is waiting for her visa call. But I just wanted to look around see how this AOS process works. I have looked over the guides and understood the process except for one thing -- vaccicnation area..

basically my wife plans to get a titre test done in India and based on that she will know which vaccianations she will have to take. she can get them done with her doctor or at her medical

now, is that enough? basically the titre test result showing she needs this number of vaccines and she does not need this many vaccines. whatever she has to take she will finish taking them all before she comes to US. Will this piece of paer work? or there is an official form in US which we have to get filled out by an american doctor?

do you guys think that above will be accepted? if it is good, then I can sumbit my AOS packge the day she comes hrere to US (just have to copy her visa/I94 from her passport)

I hope I am being clear to describe my situation. Please provide any help possible...thanks you very much :)

Did she have a medical done there with a CS yet, as you may well know her medical is good for a year. Usually they give you a copy of your vaccination supplement at your medical. She can most definatly get her titres or vaccinations done by her doctor back home or in the states (a CS may charge more for the vaccinations). The Supplemental form to I-693 must be completed by a cival surgeon in the states though. If she has proof that she has had all vaccines that she needs you may take these to a local CS (some will try to charge you lots of money or insist that you need a full medical done) or send them to the CS in Austin, TX that transfers for $10.00. Some people have not turned in this form and either get a RFE or there is no problems for them. It is up to you. I do not see any problem with filing your AOS as soon as your wife arrives. As long as you have everything that is required by the government. Best wishes,

Kristina

It is great that your planning ahead while your wife is still overseas.

Make sure as well as a copy of the titre test that the panel surgeon she goes to for her medical, gives her a copy of the vaccination worksheet that he is required to fill out.

For age 18-64 should only need MMR, TD, varicella.

If out of that age group there are other vaccines needed.

If all of the vaccinations are complete, alot of us to save the hassle have only included the vaccination worksheet from overseas (DS-3025). Problem with this is that some have had a RFE for the supplement from a CS here and some havent. I think it depends on who opens your AOS package and whether they know what they are looking at or not.

In my case, I only sent the vaccination worksheet from overseas (complete). I have not yet had a RFE for it but my interview is next month and I could still get one then. Time will tell.

One other thing to consider, for your EAD it is benificial for a K3, to apply for one before AOS that way you can get one that lasts the duration of your K3 visa (2years) instead of the usual 1 year. This is particularily beneficial for those whose local offices are very slow.

Best of luck.

Hi StormnRolly,

Do you have the link or details of the CS in Austin, TX whose fee is USD 10, please?

Thanks so much for your help!
