I sent all my documents, and I received a message on ceac telling me to add the joint sponsor and the joint sponsor’s household member as the petitioner household members,

so we called and told them that we need a joint sponsor since the petitioner doesn’t meet the requirement, so they said the would review that info again.

How long can it take?

up to 3 weeks

I called NVC and was able to speak to someone who was more informative than most.  This is the issue at hand- everyday NVC sends  new case/ invoices to CEAC in Washington DC.  They said that between dates 2/20-2/25 for some reason, CEAC in DC did not update their system.  CEAC began updating again 2/26 forward so those people have no issue.  He said that currently dates 2/20-2/25 are in a black hole........... and that we are awaiting a CEAC update to put us into their system correctly.  Yes I asked about obtaining a new case number that would work.... their reply was that you cannot just re issue because this number is already assigned to our case and a new one would not work either...(I did not understand that reasoning too much...) He also stated that we cannot pay via mail because that is our embassy's decision not ours.  He said that in our current cases, expediting wouldn't even help because we'd still need to use CEAC........ if anyone has any ideas or thoughts please let me know.

Thank you. I just got off the phone with someone who basically gave me the same vibe. So far he was the only one who has given me clear explanation as to what is going on (though NVC is now pointing fingers at CEAC, lol). Additionally, he pointed me to a sample paper DS-260 to use as template to start gathering the info that I will need once I'm able to login. We are definitely stuck in black hole.

Then at this time nothing could be done and we have to wait for unknown date that could be more than a month!! This is really sooo frustrating 😩🙄🙄

It's just sad because there's no reason this has to be happening lol CEAC can just add us.....

I think we are totally screwed...especially because it affects a limited number of applicants. It definitely does not seem like it's much of a priority for CEAC to fix, given that it's been going on for nearly 2 weeks.
