Ooh ok I understand now.  I have been following you guys didnt you say that you have an expedite?  If so how is the processing different from the nvc?  I'm curious because our case was approved for an expedite as well but we are waiting for the directions from the consulate.

I’m not really sure what happens next. Once they confirm that they received the files I will ask them. My thought is they won’t take a month to review the package and send it straight to the Embassy to finish. We will see.

Sure. This is what 8 sent to nvcexledite@state.gov

Dear Sir or Madame,

I am requesting an expedite for my CR-1 visa petitions.  My step son and step daughter (information below) both attend private school in Manila.  Payment of tuition is due in May and must be paid in full to enroll them.  With the timing of these petitions we are afraid that we will need to pay for the full year tuition for both XXXX and XXXX and we do not know how long they will actually need to be enrolled.  We have talked to the school and they will require full payment in May for school that starts in June in Manila.

We are hoping this works out where we can interview before the payment is due as that would allow me to be there at the interview with them.  School in Chicago starts in August so we are also concerned with having them registered and in class on the first day.

Our petitions were approved at USCIS on XX/XX/XXXX.  They were forwarded to NVC on XX/XX/XXXX.

Yes. Apparently there is conditional (send everything to NVC) and unconditional (sent everything to the Embassy). We did have to send all files to NVC and now we wait to see what happens.

NVC and the Embassy are a bit more open to CR-1 expedites. It isn’t as thought as K-1 expedites at USCIS.

So you’re saying it’s a better chance of expedite after uscis approval?

That is the only way to expedite CR-1. It doesn’t make sense to expedite K-1 at NVC since it is already very short there.

Ok I’m not concerned about k1, I applied for cr1.... I just didn’t know that you can expedite for that particular reason.

From what I've seen, nvc expediting is looser than uscis. Give it a shot if you have a reason to try, the worst that happens is the embassy says no and then you continue normal processing!
