You should care about the immigration benefits in the future (like applying for citizenship etc) when one rouge USCIS rep or background check will just delay you receiving your future benefits. Please stop encouraging people to do the wrong thing.

Yes ,that will be require when your spouse is here and plus no one want to file single considering the amount of tax you owe while your are single vs married but like i said before for now until ur spouse wont arrive here and get her/his ssn its not mandatory and its only optional and this statement is coming from immigartion lawyers and attorneys but if you have option to file as married ,please do so.

You are wrong for still encouraging people to file single. Whether their spouse is the USA or not; whether foreign spouse has SSN or not; the only options are 'married filing jointly', 'married filing separate', or HOH (in some specific situations).

You need new lawyers and attorneys; they are just spending your money for false advice.

It says generally they use or file as married and it says nothing like its mandatory to file as married. Please dont argue with me and i am not advising anyone to file single please file married if you can do so .End of my discussion.

It uses generally because a small section will rather file as 'married filing jointly' or HOH. Other than that generally, people file has 'married filing separate'. Single is not an option.

You know what, I'll stop responding to your questions specifically even if I can help. Good luck.

Haha like i will ask your advise and my statement was referring to if someone already filed as single but like i stated many times ultimate option is filing married if it allowed you to do so. I am not interested of any kind of dog fight with you.

I filed married but filing separately.  The account transcript shows single.  Not sure why.  Hopefully the tax transcript shows up correctly.

Yep, we have the same situation too! Just waiting for the tax transcript to be mailed. Fingers crossed!
