Curious. Are some NVC offices faster than others at processing? If so, which ones??

Since there is only one NVC do you mean the USCIS service offices?

There is only one office location for NVC. They are responsible for assigning the case number. There are a number of USCIS locations but most files are sent to California. When the load gets to be too much they are some times transferred elsewhere. We don't know when that will be.

Y'all we missed an overnight FedEx delivery today (we're both in Canada) from Lewisville, TX and I'm having a mild freakout because we haven't received the digital NOA1 nor has my credit card been charged yet. Hoping the application wasn't just flat out rejected?? :(

Application was delivered USPS on March 26th.

And now we wait for tomorrow's redeliver attempt, bah.

There is no denial if there is a problem with your payment.  Relax. OMG it's to early in the process to be freaking out.

Lol I know I know and even if it isn’t a confirmation of acceptance we’re so early in the process that it wouldn’t be even a huge setback anyway.

Do NOA1s usually come fedex overnight when you’re filing abroad?

They send everything with standart usps. No money on extra service just that you get the letter faster I would guess.

I'm not quite sure where we belong but I'm gonna say here. We filed via USPS Priority Mail on 3/29 but it wasn't delivered until 4/2. So, no NOA1 yet...of course.

Happy to finally be here though! And congrats to you all for getting to this point of our journey!

So our application was rejected because there was a problem with the credit card form. What that problem is, I couldn’t tell you. My bank said there were no attempted/declined transactions, and my photocopy of the form looks correct, so I’m not sure what to change before I resend everything. I tried calling USCIS for some clarity but got lost in a maze of automated options...

On the bright side, they sent everything back to us so no reprinting required! 🤷🏼‍♀️

If it were me I would have another set of eyes look it over. We sometimes have a tendency to read our errors. Also, it is not uncommon for USCIS to make a mistake. So look it over carefully and return it to them. You might just get yourself a money order or a bank check and send that instead of the credit card. Anywhoooo it's up to you on how you will proceed. Good luck.

There is no hard and fast rule where you need to be especially since you are at the end of the month. Stay here and you will be able to see and read what everyone is working on from the beginning. Let me give you some homework. :jest: See below.

Tool Tip 1: Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture there is a link for your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture  you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing so I could judge if I was ahead or behind.  It's pretty accurate, maybe within a day or so.

If you choose to follow those twelve members then you will get an email every time their status updates.

Tool Tip 2:  You can see the most recent approvals (of people who posted here and updated their timelines) here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php

Tool Tip 3:  If you select your flag in your profile it's going to open up to a page with lots of information. In the middle upper part of the page you are going to see "Quick Links" then in the list select "Embassy Review" and you will be taken to a page where you can read what others have experienced at your Embassy and you can add your review. Once it is complete then cut and paste the URL for your review into this thread to share with everyone. This keeps the thread clean and tidy, and not only those who are here to see it but others who may not see this thread but would see your experience. A good interview will point out some of the hiccups that you experienced along the way and the highlights of your experience. These are very helpful. I am looking forward to your review and thanks for sharing.

I hope these will be helpful to you and others while you await your visa adjudication.

My best guess is that because I filled it out by hand, there was a misinterpretation of my handwriting, though I thought it was pretty tidy! I've printed a new form and filled it out digitally, and triple checked all the info!

Spoke to someone at USCIS this evening who said that if I can speak to a Tier 2 agent tomorrow they may be able to give me more specifics about what went wrong. Will try that and plan to mail everything back in the morning if I don't receive any new information.

All in all, an annoying but not catastrophic delay...
