I knew things would begin moving faster, but this is very quick.  It's funny how fast things can change for the better.  Good luck with the interview!

Thanks, bud! There's a lot to prepare for, but yeah, we were really shocked at our luck at this particular point, since everything before it has gone so slow.

Mine is in a few weeks! I’m hella nervous though. I get super awkward and cringey when I’m stressed out in more formal situations so I have to practice being 30% less myself and stop saying “uhm yeah so” in every other sentence haha

My fiance feels similarly. She's had 2 tourist visa interviews where she was denied each time. So she's got a big fear of doing this again and just being told no. And she's afraid the more nervous she is the more suspicious she looks, all of which makes her more nervous anyway.

This right here ^^^

i have nothing to hide and we have a solid strong case, we’ve been together two years. But there’s something about the circumstances at such an interview that just makes me nervous regardless. I’ve been issued a NI visa previously and that interview was super chill and easy but this just feels different haha

and I’m so sorry to hear she’s been denied before. It must be even more nerve wrecking in that case!

Ah yeah, I think it's just the sheer amount of discretion the adjudicator has to say no is what scares me. And I've heard some horror stories of everything going well every step of the way and the interviewer is even really nice, and then they get that admin slip. I think what will happen will happen. So you have to go in, believing in the strength of your case (USCIS didn't approve you for nothing) and just have all your paperwork totally ready to go.

I searched the forums for an answer to this first, so sorry to have to post it here. I didn't wanna create a new thread just for it.

But....

I need to buy plane tickets soon for my fiance. She is likely to need to land in Europe on a leg to America. So is that a problem on a fiance visa? I thought I read somewhere the person first needed to land in the U.S. That seems unlikely to me considering the range on most planes from various countries, but I thought I'd check here anyway.

My experience has been there is no need to clear customs at the connecting airport unless you leave the airport or the designated security zone.  But many airports have done away with dedicated international terminals and started using the split jetways.

This is a good question and may depend on the airport.   I know most of the time when I arrive from an international flight, I go through customs then have to go back to domestic TSA, but this is connecting within the US so it's probably irrelevant.  The last time i connected in Europe on may way to the US I did not have to go through customs on the connecting flight, but I was coming from an EU country and connecting through and EU country to go to the US.  In this case i only saw customs in the US.

I think you're probably right. There will be no attempt to leave the airport upon which you'd definitely have to clear customs. You'd just be trying to get to the next gate for your connecting flight.

I'm having nightmares where my dog (which has a... little temper LOL) escapes his bag and starts biting everyone on the plane hahahahaha

Yeah apparently for Brazil I need the rabies certificate + worms certificate and a paper issued by the Minister of Agriculture (don't ask) and signed by a veterinarian up to 5 days prior to the flight.

The thing I'm most worried about, to be honest, is how he's gonna react to the flight itself. He's adopted and super traumatized with a lot of things and I'm worried about flying for 10h+ with him in a bag. Hopefully I'll find some kind of natural medicine to calm him down or even make him sleep. If you guys have any tips on that, I'd appreciate.

ALSO, You're together already! That makes me so happy!!! ❤️  Best of luck to you guys and be super super happy together!!

Thank you!

Hmmm...natural medicine to calm him down.....hmmmm………
