Hi everyone! An update! I received our NOA1 physical form yesterday! (March 30th.) It may have arrived in the mail earlier, but I didn't come home from being abroad until last night. I never received a text message or an email  though, so that's why I was really worried for quite a while. But having the physical form is good enough for me! It says the California service center got our petition March 14th, and then they sent on out this notice and charged our credit card on March 19th!

Now the long wait until NOA2 begins...... :)

There you go! I just created the thread🥳🥳🥳

We have seen both, receipts at one week to four weeks. I'd give it another week if your tracking shows it has been delivered and your check not cashed.

Hi! We called the USCIS.

There’s no record of our request is in the system yet. However, the representative said that’s not unusual, given the date we filed. It’s been 15 business days since putting the notice in the mail. He said it’s common for notices to take 20 to 30 days to show up in the system.

In the interim, he initiated a Service Request to investigate non-delivery of receipt notice.

An immigration officer will investigate to see if it has been received. The officer will then provide guidance.

The Service Request could take up to 30 days, although it usually takes less. The representative would not specify how much less.

He advised against resubmitting the I-129F packet until the Service Request is done. Dual requests will likely cause confusion and further delays. Chances are, we’ll get a receipt from the original submission before the Service Request investigation is done.

Or we will be joining the April filers thread...

Thanks and good luck everyone!

I mailed on March 22 and received text on 3/29.  Interesting I received the text twice but no email, but I'll consider it received either way as I await the hard copy.  BTW, my check hasn't cleared yet either.

Same here, I received two text messages but no email. Then abt a week later the letter arrived in mail. So I wouldn't freak out just yet..

Hi everyone, we are new here! My fiancee is in Colorado Springs CO, I am in Bristol UK. Technically we will be April filers as she is sending our application tomorrow! Luckily it only took a week to reach her from here, never in my life have I written anything so perfectly nor wrapped in no fewer than three envelopes!

Thank you to everyone for sharing experiences and good luck with your applications. Exciting but nerve-wracking times but we intend on updating for reference also.

Best

James and Mandie

Welcome ya'll 😊

Payment was processed in March 15 via credit card. Still no NOA 1. Am I being impatient or should I have a receipt number by now?

Hi Everyone!

I figured I would chime in and give my timeline so far. Here's what's happened so far:

3/21 Overnighted I129F package to TX

3/22 I129F package arrived

3/27 NOA1 text received

3/28 NOA1 hard copy postmarked

4/1 NOA1 hard copy received in mail

My package is at the CA processing center. I had help from a visa service putting my package together so that I could be sure that it was correct and as organized as possible. I read somewhere that USCIS likes neat/organized packages and tends to process those faster. I figure worst case I minimize my chances of getting a RFE. Best case I shave some time off that 6-8 month wait for NOA2! haha Anyways good luck March filers!

I'm not sure where you got the information that a neat and organized package gets processed faster but that is Horse.... well you know. It doesn't hurt that you are neat as that helps keep down the mistakes and helps you along the way but in a minor way. The best thing now is to relax, sit back and we will see you again in about 4 months. BTW here are two things you can do now to prepare for your interview.

1. The PSA in the Philippines is notorious for misspellings and missing information on birth certificates. You should look over your BC to make sure everything is correct as well as your passport. Now is the time to get that corrected. You might want to get a copy of your NBI to see if there are any problems with it. Again, now is a better time to get it corrected if you find something wrong. Be sure to use all your AKA's when they do the search. Make sure your passport doesn't expire any time before a year from now as this is a long process and you could be running around getting a new one at the last minute. So get it renewed if it is expiring in 2019.

2. Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/
