USCIS website still shows our case as “my response to USCIS request for evidence was received” although we got approved 1st of August. Just camp out by your mailbox haha

Currently, I am being thankful for our DHL shipment that has been delayed by Customs in Venezuela.

This is the package that contains her singleness certificate and legalized and apostilled Police Certificate that we need before our interview on Thursday.

I'm thankful because it gives me something else to bug @Greenbaum and @Sarge2155 about.

I know the feeling if not one thing it's another, I'm pulling for you that you will have it before her interview!!!

I read somewhere on VJ that an i-129 review/decision was based on about 15 minutes work.  I'm not sure how true this is, but if this were the case I  don't think the times would be more than a few days 😁😁

Thanks @Sarge2155 for keeping the mood positive.  There will always be someone who has it worse than others and we have to remember that.  In my case we're also fortunate to be able to be together every 6-8 weeks or so.   Right now I only have myself to blame for a simple RFE that should have never happened, but it doesn't make the time pass any faster.

@nosleep I heard the same thing.  Which, if USCIS is only making sure that all of the boxes are checked and that evidence of meeting in the last 2 years, etc, etc are present, then some of them can go a lot quicker.

We got lucky and didn't get an RFE.  Our passport photos were the wrong size.  They were the international passport sized photos and not the 51mm x 51mm (2 inch x 2 inch).

This is information may, and I believe it does, debunk your 15 minutes of work for adjudicating the I-129f.

As part of its benefits adjudication process and as required by law, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts background checks on petitioners and applicants who seek certain immigration benefits. These background checks consist of four separate checks against systems within Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In order to facilitate the collection and transmission of information necessary to complete background check processes, USCIS maintains five information technology electronic systems: the Fingerprint Masthead Notification System (FMNS), the Customer Identity Capture System (CICS), the FD-258 Tracking System - Mainframe (FD-258 MF), the Benefits Biometrics Support System (BBSS), and the Interagency Border Inspection System (IBIS) Manifest. USCIS is conducting this privacy impact assessment (PIA) because FMNS, CICS, FD-258 MF, BBSS, and IBIS Manifest collect, use, and share personally identifiable information (PII). This PIA replaces the previously published USCIS PIA for the "Background Check Service (BCS)" which describes planned background check-related systems that were never implemented. Upon publication of this PIA, the BCS PIA will be retired.

Additional screening and background checks based on country of birth, citizenship, or residency in the “State Sponsors of Terrorism” (T-7) list: Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, Syria; or from the “List of 26”: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Yemen. This is a mandatory stop list and allegedly takes 2 to 4 days, thanks in part to the partially rolled out PATRIOT (Pre-Adjudicated Threat Recognition and Intelligence Operations Team) system managed by ICE, but often take 3 to 6 weeks and if there is a hit who knows how long.

Security Advisory Opinion (SAO) or Washington Special Clearance,[1] commonly called security clearance, administrative clearance, or administrative processing,[2] is a process the United States Department of State and the diplomatic missions of the United States use in deciding to grant or deny a United States visa to certain visa applicants. The process involves sending a request from the visa issuing post to the Department of State's headquarters in Washington, D.C., to investigate an individual's case for possible espionage, terrorism, and illegal export of technology out of the United States.

Have yourself a positive day.

Please don't despair March filers, there is always going to be a ditch in the road that you are going to have to jump over and the immigration process is no difference. I can vouch for that and attest to it wholeheartedly. For the last pass year I have felt that I've had to take two steps forward only to have to regroup later and take three backwards sometimes four steps. I have long since given up being angry as that gets you no where.

The ONLY thing that is going to get you through your rough spots is the love you have and have built with your partner and your relationship. Try to strengthen that and everything else will fall in place. I have read about many on VJ, many couples not surviving the immigration process due to the process and with each one I read it causes me great discomfort. That's why we have to refuse to let this process get us down. Just think about all the things you want to show or do with your partner once they are here and you'll get through this. When you get that down and angry feeling remember that there are cases that are going to be always older than yours couples waiting longer than you, look at them and draw a bit of strength from them. I know easier said than done, but I am NOT just bumping my gums I have walked the walk and continue to do so!!!!!!

Thanks for the encouraging words. As hard as all of this is, and especially the stress of still no NOA2, I remind my fiance that in many ways, the hardest part for us is all over. Many people may struggle all their lives to find someone they can really love and be with all their life. My fiance and I believe we have accomplished this very difficult thing with each other. So by comparison, much of this is actually the easiest part. Back in my brain I know this to be true, but at the forefront of my brain is me thinking how I'm about a month in now since my RFE. I also feel things will work out, but on a day to day basis, the NOA2 feels like some mythical thing lately.
