Ah you really are patient to be okay with any time before Christmas. That's cool also you got to live with your mate for so long. It was hard on us because my fiance's tourist visa was denied 2 times so she has yet to come to the U.S.

I was hoping she'd be here by September, but based on the RFE's progress so far, I'm readjusting that to October. I just hope I can still take her to Yellowstone this year before they close it up.

I was mentally prepared to be left on “your case was received” until December so it was huge for me to get the RFE in June. It’s nice to know that the case was picked up and reviewed, instead of being forgotten or left in between other cases!

This is what I try to keep telling myself but after seeing things move along at a faster pace I've been hoping it would be sooner.  Our original plan was to have Chinese New Year together in January and travel back to the US afterwords.  I think we may just stick to to our original plan if we don't finish this process until December.  If we're lucky enough to finish in October we'll reconsider.  Whichever way it goes, we have a plan regardless but we're still hopeful for October.

That sounds like a great plan! I find it easier to deal with the wait if I make smaller milestones along the way. Fingers are crossed for progress any day for you 🙂

Eh, I'm a sad panda. I really think I'm horribly unlucky or there's something wrong with my case.

I'm still waiting for RFE response also.  I think it's just bad luck.  My guess is some people just work faster than others and it's all about who was assigned to your case.  It's like when you look around your workplace and you know who gets things done efficiently and you also know who takes their time.

LOL Good point. Kind of like how at the office, everyone around me is working hard while I'm just checking my WAC and Visajourney all day.

Same here!  We were anticipating an October approval.  Instead, we are on pace for an October wedding!

Do a full blown Halloween theme haha. I don’t really have any anticipations for a wedding, I think we’re going to the courthouse and getting Taco Bell after. If you ask nicely they’ll let you light candles by the table, romantic ;)

I gave up on  trying to fake it.  I have one window with Visajourney, SAIME (Venezuela Passport System), Kiwi Travel, and Bitcoin charts.  The other window is for work.

@TandClaudia, your timing has been impeccable throughout this process, congrats! 😁

I have to agree that I spend too much time on travel sites  but it does pay off.  Most of the time I can get a r/t ticket to China for less than a r/t to NY if I pay attention.

@nosleep, God has truly blessed us throughout this entire process.  I am thankful when things work out in our favor and I am thankful when things don't go as planned.  Some truly amazing and seemingly impossible things have happened in the past 6 months.

R/T to China for that cheap?  WOW.  After I get USCIS and the US State Department out of my wallet, I might look into that.

Currently, I am being thankful for our DHL shipment that has been delayed by Customs in Venezuela.

This is the package that contains her singleness certificate and legalized and apostilled Police Certificate that we need before our interview on Thursday.

I'm thankful because it gives me something else to bug @Greenbaum and @Sarge2155 about.

This Wednesday I'm a month in after my RFE response. I'm relaxed today, but I could get pretty irritable by mid-week.

I kind of wanna talk to a human at USCIS. I've seen people post the phone number before, but there are so many numbers it's a bit of a blur to me. Could anyone give me again the best number to call to inquire about my case? I'm holding off on calling until Wednesday, but by then I may just wanna double check everything with a person. Cause I've seen stories about people's tracking numbers not even updating until sometimes it gets to NVC
