Remember that the NOA2 is not even half of the journey for the K-1 (waiting for NVC to receive case, getting a case# assigned, case getting shipped to you guy's respective embassies, receiving P3, medical examinations, appointment availability & how to proceed for each country according to embassy instructions, etc.) so be prepared 🏋️‍♀️ 🏋️‍♂️!!!

Very true, it's a long road and the silence between NOA1 and NOA2 can be tiring.  I'm looking forward to seeing things progress with updates on a monthly basis rather than waiting for 3-4 months wondering what is happening.  I think the last of the March filers here are almost done.  There are only a few of us left and I think we're all still here due to our own mistakes (RFEs) but things should begin moving along for everyone soon.

I kind of figured that while the rest of the steps could take longer combined than the NOA2, is it not correct that the NOA2 tends to be the single longest step you have to wait on? So I'm really hoping once I get my NOA2 that my fiance could possibly have her visa in September. This could be an optimistic estimate, but mid to late September. That's what I'm hoping and maybe I can still take her to Yellowstone in time.

It can really vary honestly.... The time to my NOA2 was around ~2 months. If I'm lucky I will get an interview for my fiance earliest in September which will be around 4 months after my NOA2 (Near the expiry date...)

I think consulate plays a big factor here as well.

For sure about the consulate. It's interesting also to look up the pending/accepted cases per country. If those numbers are anything to go by, it could give you a good idea of how far out you are in the queue. Like, I looked up Turkey before and their pending cases for a K1 was something like 15. That didn't seem too high to me, but maybe the time between each of those interviews is awhile, I don't know.

For us the longest part will be waiting for the interview- NOA2 in 3 months- interview is scheduled for 4 months from the time the embassy received our case. It was originally longer, but I move it up when I saw a cancellation.

Yikes, that's crazy man.

I do see Mexico has around 24 pending applications, whereas Turkey has about 11. But then numbers of pending cases aside, I guess it could be fast or slow for other reasons entirely.

Hi @Elif_and_Greg where are you viewing the pending statistics and workload?

Not sure how good the data is, but I imagine it comes from a government source anyway.

Seconded.

Country of the beneficiary plays a massive role on time frames for the rest of the journey.

I was mentioning not too long ago how it's crazy that at some embassies you have to wait 4 or even 5 months for an appointment at the embassy whereas in some countries you can get one for next week. In a way it seems unfair but if you put it into perspective, population and their affairs with the U.S. make sense that appointments can be sparse on some areas.

These stats come from those who update their timeline so somewhat accurate but i wouldn't put my dollar coin in that slot machine.

I do think Mexico is one of the busiest for visas, so it would make more sense if they opened a second place to receive K1 or CR-1 visas. At the very least they should open more days/time slots.I think CR-1 approval is now taking around 20 months from start to finish, which is why we chose the K1.

I'm starting to just feel that I hope I'm one of those guys who's case got approved, my NOA2 is on its way in the mail, but they just failed to update the tracking number. While I am better at waiting and not checking it so much these days, that it's August 1st now is making it harder. I really could use some good news this week.

Most that go the CR1 route is because the beneficiary can begin working sooner then a K1, who must wait for EAD and SSN.
